Story
Stella is a sweet and gentle 5-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart as big as her soft, soulful eyes. Though she can be shy at first, once she gets to know you, Stella will shower you with love, cuddles, and plenty of sweet kisses! Stella came to us from a difficult dog-hoarding situation where she lived with over 15 other dogs. This high-stress environment left her needing time to feel safe and comfortable in new surroundings. But once she warms up, her affectionate and loyal nature truly shines. One of Stella’s favorite activities is running and playing in our Bark Park with her kennel mate, Thumper, and her buddy, Oswald. She seems to do well with other dogs but appreciates a patient introduction to let her trust and confidence grow. Stella is already spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention, so she’s ready to go to her forever home! It’s important to note that Stella has luxating patellas (loose kneecaps) in both her back legs, a condition that may require surgery as she gets older. Stella does have an anti-inflammatory that she takes when her knees "act up." This condition may also cause arthritis to set in earlier in life. Despite this, she remains active, happy, and full of life! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will reward your patience with endless love and devotion, Stella could be the perfect match. Come meet her today—your new best friend is waiting!

Tag came to us as a stray in October 2024. While this boy would do best in a home with no cats, Tag loves to make new dogs friends! Tag is our sweet boy who has plenty of energy for an active home. Tag is already walking well on leash, mostly housebroken, and learning his basic commands. Tag is cattle dog, neutered, microchipped, and is up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventative. Come out to the shelter to meet this playful boy!

Story
Rebel was surrendered to the shelter along with his sister when their owner could no longer care for them. Rebel's sister has been adopted and Rebel is hoping to find his FUREVER home! Rebel is a 7 month old Australian Cattle Dog/Labrador mix. He is shy and smart little boy. Rebel had always lived outside so he will need patience and time as he learns the joy of being an inside puppy and learning the household routines, like potty training!!!! Rebel is an active boy that just needs a little time to feel comfortable in new situations. Rebel has been neutered, microchipped and Heartworm tested. We have updated all vaccines including rabies. He has been given a dewormer and started on flea/tick prevention. To Apply for Adoption/Foster please copy and paste the following link: https://orangecountyva.gov/158/Animal-Shelter

Story
Logan is a super sweet dog. He's very playful and just wants love and attention. He is content roaming around the yard or sunbathing, but will also gladly snuggle up on the couch with you. Unfortunately, our life circumstances have changed and we can't give him the time and love he deserves. He knows to sit and loves when our kids give him treats. He does bark at the delivery person but we appreciated that he would guard our home. He needs a home that can provide love, time for exercise as he still has lots of energy, and some snuggles. He's such a good boy and could learn so much in the right environment. Please if you have time and space, consider this sweet and playful dog.

Story
Remy is playful, eager to please, food motivated and very intelligent. He absolutely loves other dogs and has made a lot of canine friends on daily walks. He would do great if he had a canine sibling and a fenced yard to play in. Remy is loyal and wonderful to his family. He loves running after a ball or a stick or frisbee and is learning to bring them back to his person. He also loves his toy collection and will go his basket of toys and pick something out when he is bored! We told you he is smart! He needs a slow introduction with strangers because people he does not know appear to make him nervous. He is crate trained and potty trained, and would make an excellent jogging or hiking companion. He knows basic commands like sit, down, shake, and he knows to wait patiently for his food at mealtimes. He is currently in a home with a kitten and the two of them get along great.
