Story
Boba is a sweet and loving 2-year-old who adores people! He’s treat-motivated, knows “sit,” and is ready to learn even more with the right family. Boba would do best in a home with kids older than 10, where he can get the attention and playtime he loves. If you're looking for a loyal and fun companion, Boba might just be your perfect match!

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sky and River have lived their lives outside in a kennel, but they would be more than happy to transition to inside living. Both have some food possession with other animals, but none whatsoever with people. So being sure to feed them separately from other dogs and removing all food from the area before allowing them loose again is recommended. We are still learning about River in a home, but she is a shy, sweet girl that just aims to please. She army crawls to you but she is still a confident, smart lady despite her submissive behavior. We recommend no cats due to their breed mix and lack of socialization with them from a young age. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2025, 10:39 pm

Both have some food possession with other animals, but none whatsoever with people. So being sure to feed them separately from other dogs and removing all food from the area before allowing them loose again is recommended. Sky shares water well and doesn't mind an empty food bowl or closed container of food tucked away in her foster home. However she does eat quickly as if that is the only way she knows to keep her food from being taken. Despite this she has no issue with people being around her food, interacting with her bowl, or moving pieces of food.  Currently in foster with 13 other dogs of all gender and size, Sky is great with dogs and while she is afraid of cats, she is interested and curious so with her mix of breeds, we recommend no cats as this behavior could quickly escalate.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 9, 2025, 10:39 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hale has been with foster caregiver for over a year now. He has always lived outdoors, and is satisfied with having a fenced area all to himself, although he does tolerate visits from other canines. He is lovingly called “Old Man” and even though he can be crotchety, he has had a rough time and we forgive him. (Hale recently lost his human, and was one of eight working dogs left behind. The others have found homes with adopters or rescues, but Hale has a tough time adapting.)   The teens in this family have spent time working to befriend him, and have seem him happy and wiggly as well as the “don’t touch my backside” side of him. We would love for him to find a home with a farm, where he can work if he wants to, and hang out if he wants to. He does not need to be in a home as he has always been outside. He did visit another home for about two weeks, and we hoped it might work as a Forever situation, but unfortunately, old man focused on the rabbits who lived in the house, and all he could think about was pursuit. He was doing well with his house training in the time he was there, so we feel like if an outdoor home is not necessarily ideal, he could live in a house if he wanted to as long as he had access to the outdoors.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 7, 2024, 11:06 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Active like all ACD's, this boy refuses to let life get him down!  He is at the shelter after being in a home where he probably did not receive the enrichment needed for an ACD. We know he likes to bark at other dogs, but is not a bad dog.  He went for a quick car ride to the vet on Thursday, but they were not able to restrain him for his vaccines, so he is still waiting around for those! Interested in a lively boy that needs love and training? Here you go!   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 13, 2025, 5:28 pm
