Story
Meet Maggie, the ultimate contradiction! This sweet, 4yr old Cattle Dog is the epitome of gentle giant. Rescued from a high-kill shelter, she's blossomed into a loving, cuddly companion who will steal your heart. * Unleashed Affection: Maggie is a total cuddle bug who loves nothing more than to be your shadow. She's house-trained, crate-trained, and eager to please. * Gentle Soul: Don't let her breed fool you! Maggie is incredibly gentle, especially with children. She's a gentle giant who loves attention. * Work in Progress: While Maggie has made remarkable progress with socialization, she still needs a patient owner who can continue her training. She's food and dog reactive at times, but with consistent positive reinforcement, she'll continue to thrive. Maggie is looking for a special home with someone who understands the Cattle Dog breed but appreciates her unique personality. She's a perfect fit for a family with older children or a single individual seeking a loyal companion.

Story
Greetings from Sammy! This handsome boy has two modes: snuggle mode and walkie mode. Sammy spends most of his time at at the Center lying on the bench in his room people-watching, wondering which lucky human will pick him to call their own! With staff he waits patiently to be included in someone's walk, and when someone finally comes in, he greets them with happy tippy taps and face kisses. He's such a cuddle bug and loves butt scratches the most. Second to that, he loves going for relaxing walks to spend time with his friends. Sammy with his short and stout stature, show-stopping eyes, and sweet quiet demeanor has become a favorite office dog of a couple of our managers here at LHS. Here's what one of them said about him: "Sammy is the perfect companion dog. He loves to nap and hang out but still has a sparkle in his eye for playing gently with his toys! When I leave my office and come back, he's so excited to see me and wiggles, but never makes a peep when I'm gone because he loves his comfortable spaces. Sammy is the epitome of a chill dog and anyone would be lucky to take him home!" Stop by to meet Sammy today or email adoption@lynchburghumane.org!
