Story
On the 7th Day of Christmas my true love gave to me…..Miss Charlotte who has been waiting a VERY long time (1 year and 4 months) for her perfect family .  Charlotte is 4 years old and came to us with a litter in tow - Gus Wilbur Betsy Templeton etc. All her babies got adopted right away but she STILL has yet to find a home. She was a stray and likely had never lived in a home before coming into her current foster home.    She does require quite a bit of basic manners work including work on a leash. She will need some supervision outside as she’s learning the ropes as she has escaping tendencies. She does have great recall though!  Charlotte has a bundle of energy and loves to play fetch (she would play all day if she was allowed). She LOVES her people and ESPECIALLY enjoys belly rubs . She has also been good with other dogs.  Charlotte has such potential to be an AMAZING dog, but we don't want to sugar coat it, she will make her human work to help uncover her true potential and give her the necessary exercise to help her succeed.  If you’re interested in learning more please private message us or you can also apply here: Newleashdogrescue.com ##1833628##

Story
Nova is a 7 month old heeler mix who is about 30 lbs and as sweet as they come. She is good with kids and other dogs. She is housebroke, but sometimes still excited pees. Cats are … a work in progress. A home without cats is probably best, but a super dog savvy cat might be okay. She is still a puppy so still can be mouthy. She does fine in her kennel overnight, but not a huge fan of being in there other times.   She is spayed and her vaccines are up to date. Her adoption fee is $250. You can find an application for her on our website, www.newleashdogrescue.com. ##2248250##

Story
Meet Calliope! Calliope is a 5 month old, spayed female Heeler mix. She is microchipped, on heartworm preventative and current on her vaccines. 3 words that describe me: Energetic, affectionate and out-going. Things staff and volunteers have to say about me: "My friends at the shelter describe me as a happy girl who cant wait to find her forever home and grow up by her people's side. They say I am an energetic, goofy girl with a heart full of love." Activity level/Energy Level: (1-10) 8 Housetraining Status: I could use some work on housetraining but I will catch on super fast with a good routine and patience. I would do well in a home with: Dogs (with proper introductions) and Kids (with parental guidance). Staff are unsure how I would do around cats. My favorite activities are: I love cuddling and playing with my favorite people and going everywhere with them. Things I need work on are: I could use a little help with my leash walking skills, sometimes the leash confuses me. My adoption fee is: $350 Training Requirement if applicable: Because I am a puppy and its very important my new family and I are set up for success, I am required to attend a puppy class at my new family's choice of training location. There is a $100 training deposit for this but once a course is complete, the training deposit will be refunded. *If you are interested in adopting, please start by filling out an application available on our website and email it to us. https://www.couleehumane.com/adopt-an-animal

Story
I got lucky on July 29, 2024, He was only 8- 9 weeks from a family friend. He was good as a puppy. He is potty trained / house trained. Now he is 8 months old. He has all his shots and he is nurtured. He is a very high-strung breed and is very energetic. I am looking for a new home for him because I don't have enough time to get all his energy out and he needs someone who can train him properly. I feel like he has anxiety. He loves to play with toys and play tug of war. He also loves his chew toys and bones. I am hoping to find a happy loving home for him.

Story
Brady wants to know if you have just a minute or two to hear about what a good boy he is. If he could he’d tell you all about the circumstances that brought him to HSNEI and how he’s sure it was all meant to be so he could find his true forever family. Brady’s rescue story, unfortunately, started with his previous owner leaving him outside a store one day. Being the incredibly loyal boy he is, Brady stayed in that spot all day, waiting for his person to come back. They did not return, so he was taken to a local shelter. From there, he found himself in an amazing foster home where he lived with three other dogs and a cat. One of his friends was a three-legged hound dog with whom he loved to cuddle and wrestle with. As much as Brady’s foster family cared for him, they wanted him to find a family of his own, so he was included in a transfer that took him from Oklahoma to Iowa. Although we’ve only known Brady for a short time, it’s clear that he is a sweet dog who just wants to be loved. He enjoys running and playing outside but always stays close. He has a history of being very patient and gentle with children as well as other animals. He’s a smart boy who knows “sit” and “shake” and loves to show off his skills. Despite his sad beginning, Brady is a happy boy and hopes someone here will see what an amazing dog he is so his story will have a happy ending.
