Story
***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Kimberly, ID INDIE appears to be about a 2.5 year old, 35-lb kelpie mix with good energy and was a very good momma to her 7 puppies. INDIE is a very affectionate and fun dog. She plays with toys and chases balls and sticks. She loves playing with water (see videos). She loves being in the backyard where she can scan the perimeter for the neighbor dogs. When she hears them come out, she runs to the fence, wags her tail and whines to get them to come run the fence with her. She loves to spy on them through knot holes in the fence. INDIE is food-motivated and very eager to please. She is not a great walker in the neighborhood. She enjoys our walks, but she pulls on the leash. And when she hears a dog up ahead or sees people getting out of a car, she pulls harder. She wants so badly to go see what is going on and meet new people and dogs. She used to try and chase cars as they drove by, but now she stops walking and watches them drive by. She also loves to chase squirrels and birds. INDIE loves everyone she meets, especially children. She had a little bit of excitatory pee the other day when meeting the neighbor kids. She plops over and offers her belly to everyone she meets. But she can be a little mouthy when she is excited and someone is petting her (puts your hand/arm in her mouth), but she does not bite - it is just a little surprising. This could be because of the herding dog in her. INDIE has a healed shoulder injury from her original living situation where she was a working ranch dog, but it does not slow her down a bit. She is not crate-trained, but is well-behaved when I leave her home alone in the house. She sits by the front window and watches for me to return. She loves looking out the window to see what is going on. Whether you left the house for 2 minutes just to take the trash out, or you were gone for hours, she will greet you with great excitement when you come back in. Now that her puppies have been adopted, INDIE is being a good sport as the only dog in the house, but she would love to be a part of a family and have a playmate of her own. She was turned in by her owner to the rescue with a healed (formerly broken paw ), pregnant, and living outside. Momma INDIE is so very grateful to be out of the blizzard conditions when she was rescued. She had even dug a hole in the frozen ground to keep her seven pups warm and safe before she was rescued. Story
***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Jerome, ID RYDER is a typical 5-month-old puppy, so very social, outgoing, and attention-seeking. He will likely be a big dog because we believe daddy was a big dog. He is currently living with his sibling MOOSE and other big dogs. He is a contemplator he watches a situation before interacting. Very smart. He knows sit and is crate-trained and housebroken. He walks well on a leash and absolutely loves the water he puts his entire face under the water in the kiddy pool. He loves playing tug-a-war with the big dogs and gets along well with cats. He is an absolute cuddler. RYDER has a little white diamond on the tip of his nose and a diamond mark on his forehead. He also has horseshoe type lines like eyeliner around his eyes. Whoever adopts him is going to have a lucky dog. Story
***NEEDS FOSTER or FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Jerome boarding kennels, ID Young ~1 year old, 37-lb WINNY gave birth to 6 pups on 1/18/24 WINNY loves men and shows them her belly after doing a wiggly butt walk up to them for attention. WINNY loves sitting in the front fenced yard and watching the people go by. She is a good alert dog. WINNY is good with kids (gentle mouth) and pups and is very submissive when meeting other dogs. WINNY will do better without a cat in the house. WINNY is now housebroken and knows basic commands. She walks straight out to potty area without a leash. She will run the fence chasing cars as they drive by. Update from recent foster home: Yes, WINNY is energetic. Foster has been trying to train her from jumping by putting her palm low to touch for praise or treat. WINNY has been enjoying playing fetch in the backyard. She loves Squeaky toys. She throws balls up by herself to entertain herself. She is smart and very treat-motivated. She just wants to be with you. She may chew out of boredom. She knows some obedience commands, but doesn't really sit because of her leg, but because she wants to please, she lays down for you. Her belly has shrunk back nicely. Update from a temp foster home: "She is doing really well with my dogs. She’s demonstrated some resource guarding with food and toys but really took to correction well. Since yesterday she hasn’t snapped or growled at anyone over food or toys. She is such a smart and snuggly girl. Today and yesterday I gave her more free reign on her own in the living room. My other fosters were napping in their crates. She did really well not getting into things around her. She stuck to chewing on things she knew were for her and didn’t go after anything else. She is an expert at holding her own with husky style play. Hahah she is so small she gets launched sometimes but she LOVES it." We are thinking that she would do well with an EasyWalk harness that connects at her chest. Story
This bonded pair of Husky/Kelpie mix, approximately 4 years old are the best dogs and would make a great addition to any family! Hello! We are Chet and Ruby. We are brother and sister, and a bonded pair, which means it’s important that we are adopted together. We have been together our whole lives and have only had each other.  We were pulled off the euthanasia list from an out of state shelter after being surrendered due to no fault of our own.  We are very well mannered. We are house trained, crate trained, we don’t beg when the humans are eating and love to play with all sizes of dogs. We are not good with kitties. We want to chase them. We love kids of all sizes. Frankly we have never met a person we didn’t love. We love to go on walks and be outside enjoying the sunshine. We would love to have any active family to love on us. We love our car rides and are well behaved. Our adoption fee of 400.00 for both of us includes spay/neuter, microchip, up to date on vaccines.

Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
MEET TONNIE Meet our special needs girl, Tonnie. ❤️ Tonnie is a 8 month old, Australian Kelpie mix that is funny, silly, and a perfect puppy who happens to be blind. She would love to play all day long if you let her, and she has endless fun with her foster siblings, including cats. One of her favorite activities is feeling the dirt between her toes, which means she would love a sandbox of her very own for digging purposes. We are working on her puppy tendencies, and while she may playfully run away when scolded, it's hard to stay upset at her when everything is a game. She might have a little vision in the corner of one eye, but at night, she’s completely blind. Tonnie needs someone who understands her and has patience. She is still a bit afraid of new people and noises but is slowly calming down. She is kennel trained but doesn’t like to feel cornered when approached by strangers, which is understandable. Tonnie is the happiest dog I’ve ever fostered! Her constant silliness and happy-go-lucky attitude are always making me laugh and shake my head in amusement. We could all learn a bit from blind dogs.

These pups are in Jerome, Idaho too!

Story
***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Boise, ID Meet affectionate ~7-month-old, 24 lb PAPRIKA who was lucky to score a loving foster home in mid-June with other dogs and a cat. She is now looking for a furever home without small kids. Foster mom is learning a lot about PAPRIKA who she renamed KYVAH. KYVAH is a typical active puppy who needs a patient family to help her with socialization. KYVAH is already house-trained and crate-trained. She is smart and has lots of potential, but she appears scared (barks or backs away) and does not have the self-confidence to be able to greet strangers. Foster mom is working on more socialization with people by bringing her on walks with her mobility scooter. KYVAH likes to play with other dogs (check out video of her with big dog AZURE and foster sibling) and is fine with the resident cat (see video). She does show herding behaviors (e.g., nipping), so we are likely looking for a home without small children. KYVAH is happy playing at home in her yard and gets lots of enrichment through dog puzzles. She is still showing separation anxiety, so would prefer a family with someone home a lot. We also know that KYVAH gets extremely car-sick, so may not be a good dog for adventures. ***NEEDS FUREVER HOME*** Currently in Wendell, ID Sweet DUSTY is ~1.5 years old, ~45 pounds and super submissive. He is dog- and cat-friendly. He lays down as soon as he is approached. He walks well on leash and has a gentle mouth (may be okay with kids). In his new foster home, we learned that DUSTY is good with all animals. He is shy with strangers and takes him a while to warm up (especially men). When he is scared, he runs and hides. Foster mom does not think that he would use his mouth inappropriately. We also learned that DUSTY would prefer a home with someone home a lot. He is anxious when his people leave and may bark in his crate.
