Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Duke! I am a charming, happy, Cattle Dog mix.  I love to go for walks  or runs  (and I am really good at it!). I also love car rides, stuffed animals, and playing in a fenced-in backyard. I am completely house trained,  crate trained ,  and am very intelligent. I know what sit, lay down , and stay mean, but I could use some more training to work on those commands and anything else you want to teach me.  I love to run and play; I have a whole lot of energy, but I also love to cuddle, give kisses and be loved by my human companion .  Basically, I just like to be doing what my people are.   I am very cautious of new people. I really prefer to come check you out first, and I really rather you don’t pet me until I know you will treat me with kindness.  I may  have to meet you a couple times before  I know I can trust you .   I can’t tell my friends at Last Hope what happened to me before I came to stay with them, but all they know is that it takes me a while to trust people and be comfortable in situations.  Because of this, I should not be in a home with young kids or teens.  My dream home would be with an adult family who is familiar with my kind of challenges and who has a physically fenced in yard. I also want 1 other playful dog around my size (50 pounds+) or bigger  to play with (I can play a little rough so they need to be tough like me) and a family who is very patient with me while I adjust to new people in my life.  I am a very loyal companion and I just want to please my humans!   Once I know I can trust you, I just want to be around you and will be your shadow as you go through your day.  I have also had my DNA tested! I am officially an Australian Cattle Dog/Harrier mix!    Last Hope requires that all pets be kept as indoor pets, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes reference and vet checks and a home visit. The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear is a very handsome blue heeler, looking for an experienced dog owner to have a GREAT life with! Bear is super smart, and he loves to play with other dogs around his size. He requires a home with a playful and submissive canine companion near his size, he especially responds well to female dogs.  Bear is kennel trained as well as potty trained.  He loves to go for long walks and explore, he will make a superb companion for a very lucky owner! Bear does have stranger danger/reactive fears, he came to Last Hope very untrusting of people.  He has done great working with a firm and consistent handler, and will require this is his forever home but will likely always be initially reactive to strangers. Our volunteers have worked with him and found him to be a very friendly and affectionate dog, although he still requires slow and controlled introductions with strangers and will need an owner that appreciates his breed and unique needs.  No children, no cats and preferably a homeowner with a physical fenced in yard.  Bear's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, current vaccinations, and microchip.  last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, current on preventatives and vaccinations, and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meela is a sweet and sensitive pup who's still getting her bearings, but she's already showing her affectionate side. While she may start off a bit nervous, it doesn’t take long before she’s asking for pets and soaking up gentle attention from her favorite people. She's been lovely with all the team members she's met so far and is gradually building her confidence each day. Walks and string cheese are currently at the top of Meela’s list of favorite things, and we’ve found that letting her explore at her own pace helps her feel safe and secure. Training is a bit overwhelming for her at the moment, but with time and encouragement, we believe she’ll come around beautifully. Meela seems to really enjoy meeting other dogs—especially calm, confident ones—so a canine companion might be just the role model she needs. She’s showing lots of interest in making new furry friends. Toys are still a bit hit-or-miss; she likes her stuffies but isn’t much of a fetch or frisbee gal (yet!). Meela is looking for a patient, loving home that can help her grow into the brave, happy pup we know she can be.   Meela's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccines and preventatives plus a heartworm test. Meela is seeking an indoor only home, if you would like to meet her please submit an adoption application through our website, Adopthope.org. Last Hope requires that adopters have a history of having kept any other animals in their care as indoor pets only, altered and kept current on annual vaccines and vet care.  Our adoption process includes a vet history check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 23, 2025, 2:54 pm
