Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Duke! I am a charming, happy, Cattle Dog mix.  I love to go for walks  or runs  (and I am really good at it!). I also love car rides, stuffed animals, and playing in a fenced-in backyard. I am completely house trained,  crate trained ,  and am very intelligent. I know what sit, lay down , and stay mean, but I could use some more training to work on those commands and anything else you want to teach me.  I love to run and play; I have a whole lot of energy, but I also love to cuddle, give kisses and be loved by my human companion .  Basically, I just like to be doing what my people are.   I am very cautious of new people. I really prefer to come check you out first, and I really rather you don’t pet me until I know you will treat me with kindness.  I may  have to meet you a couple times before  I know I can trust you .   I can’t tell my friends at Last Hope what happened to me before I came to stay with them, but all they know is that it takes me a while to trust people and be comfortable in situations.  Because of this, I should not be in a home with young kids or teens.  My dream home would be with an adult family who is familiar with my kind of challenges and who has a physically fenced in yard. I also want 1 other playful dog around my size (50 pounds+) or bigger  to play with (I can play a little rough so they need to be tough like me) and a family who is very patient with me while I adjust to new people in my life.  I am a very loyal companion and I just want to please my humans!   Once I know I can trust you, I just want to be around you and will be your shadow as you go through your day.  I have also had my DNA tested! I am officially an Australian Cattle Dog/Harrier mix!    Last Hope requires that all pets be kept as indoor pets, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes reference and vet checks and a home visit. The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 8:30 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear is a very handsome blue heeler, looking for an experienced dog owner to have a GREAT life with! Bear is super smart, and he loves to play with other dogs around his size. He requires a home with a playful and submissive canine companion near his size, he especially responds well to female dogs.  Bear is kennel trained as well as potty trained.  He loves to go for long walks and explore, he will make a superb companion for a very lucky owner! Bear does have stranger danger/reactive fears, he came to Last Hope very untrusting of people.  He has done great working with a firm and consistent handler, and will require this is his forever home but will likely always be initially reactive to strangers. Our volunteers have worked with him and found him to be a very friendly and affectionate dog, although he still requires slow and controlled introductions with strangers and will need an owner that appreciates his breed and unique needs.  No children, no cats and preferably a homeowner with a physical fenced in yard.  Bear's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, current vaccinations, and microchip.  last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, current on preventatives and vaccinations, and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 8:30 am

Story
Blossom is one of three little girls born about May 20th so she is almost 12 weeks old. She is the biggest puppy and currently weighs 12 pounds. Blossom and her sisters came into rescue because they were dumped at a rural Missouri dog pound. Their foster mom sent in a DNA test and these girls are Supermutts. Their predominant breed was Australian Cattle Dog and 14 other breeds make up their DNA ranging in size from Chihuahua to Doberman. Blossom is very social and loves human attention. She likes to play with her littermates and her toys. Blossom is doing well at potty training but will need to be watched and taken outside more often than an adult. Her new family needs to be committed to continuing to work with her and training her using positive reinforcement. Blossom requires a physically fenced yard so she can safely run and play. Blossom is spayed, microchipped, and has had the first two of the three required distemper/parvo boosters. Her adopters will be responsible for her last distemper/parvo boosters and her rabies vaccine at 16 weeks. If you would like to meet Blossom, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Blossom you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Adopters must be within a two-hour radius of Cedar Rapids, IA.  Indoor homes only.  Adoption fee $300.

Story
Mister Buckley has GOT to be part rabbit with those ears! They never stop cracking us up, and throwing in his amazing, outgoing personality; it doesn't get much better than him, honestly! This sweet little guy is only about 7 months old, and just about 30 pounds, and while he may be small, his personality is BIG! Taking the world on in strides, fully prepared for adventures as such a little docile baby, yet more than willing to cuddle in the crook of just about ANYONE'S arms. Buckley gets along well with all other dogs, kids, and cats! Making him a PERFECT fit for just about any loving home! Especially if you're willing to give him plenty of belly rubs and playtime, then young Buck will have absolutely ZERO complaints. My favorite trait of Buckley's is how he romps and runs with all the other dogs, he doesn't hesitate even with the bigger ones; and just quickly befriends them! He's seriously the sweetest! From his great behavior, and his understanding of basic commands, we believe him to be house-trained, and definitely crate-trained! My adoption fee is only $210! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter! Think I might be the perfect fit for your home? You can apply for me here https://animalwelfarefriends.org/adopt/application/ OR you can apply in person when you come visit me any day during business hours! You can even adopt me that same day once approved!! Please Note: All adoptions are on a first-come first served basis with approved adoption applicants. Story
Sweet, little Dakoda-girl! Her favorite thing to do is engulf herself in your arms and stay there, content, and as seriously lovey as can be. Koda is a true heart stealer, I'll let you know ahead of time, I think if she could spend all of her time going between napping, cuddling, playing, and some more cuddling, she would be one happy camper! Despite being only 6 months old, and 21 pounds, Koda is 100% house-trained, crate-trained, and very well-mannered. She is a petite little cattle dog that adores other dogs, cats, and kids; who doesn't ever have a care in the world. She is beyond a doll, I will say that, and when she's licking your face as much as she can, and wagging her tail at you, I know you'll feel the exact same about her! My adoption fee is only $310! This fee covers all of my vaccines, microchip, nex/heartguard, heartworm test, AND my spay/neuter! Think I might be the right fit for your home?
