My husband and I are in our 80’s. I found Shana on a very dangerous road near our ranch. She would have been killed. She was in good health. I don’t know her exact age but we are thinking11 months to a year. But she is jealous of our 8 year old dog Dixie. Shana attached herself to me. But she is healthy, strong and needs a big yard to run and play. She is an outside dog and if trained I would guarantee she would help with sheep and cows. She is active and loves running. That is why my husband and I need her rescued. We are having Chemo therapy and surgery so we just can’t do for her like we would like. She needs a good home!!

Welcome Dixie to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 9-month old Smooth Coated Collie/Kelpie is our best guess on breed. She weighs 50 pounds. She is very very loyal to her people and would be great with someone wanting a dog to go with you places or if you work from home and want a loyal partner. She is crate trained, potty trained, good on a leash and good in a car. She was found as a stray and her foster mom has been putting this girl through dog training. She is doing really good in her classes and is learning some more basic commands. She is a higher energy dog and would be great for a runner, jogger or hiker type person. She is lower on the shed scale. She has a lot of personality and would be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Her best home would be with a fenced yard. She could run and play off some energy. She likes you to be outside with her as she wants to be around her family over exploring the yard all along without you. She would be fine with children as well. We like them to be 8 or older. She is up on her vaccinations, spayed and ready for her forever home. She is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland(Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. We can put you in touch with her foster mom after you put in and get your application approved. We can also set up a meet and greet if you are local in Texas.
