Story
Momma Donna is a Kelpie/Heeler mix girl that gave birth 3 months ago to 8 beautiful, wonderful Heeler puppies. This girl is 2 years old and only 42 pounds.  She is amazingly smart and seems to know exactly what you are saying to her.  We think that Momma Donna would be a perfect addition to a home with children who want to play and teach a dog some good tricks and manners.  She is willing to learn anything. Momma Donna is nicely housebroken and ready for a totally great and new life.  Momma Donna just needs a place to belong.   So, do you have a front porch and a hole in your heart ready to be filled by a loving and devoted dog who wants to walk down the road with you every day?   Please email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested in Momma Donna.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 4, 2024, 11:48 pm

Story
Kelpies are bred to run along the backs of sheep while herding them. They are smart and agile dogs who love their jobs and love to please their owner. Meet Brutus. This handsome boy is shy to warm up at first but full of so much love and affection once he knows you. He has never met a set of stairs he does not want to run up and down a few times and LOVES to romp in the snow. Brutus does great in the car, is housebroken, knows how to sit, and is eager to learn more tricks. He would make an excellent obstacle course dog or a good running buddy.

Story
BLUE - 7 years old, 70 pounds, house trained; home with older kids, only dog, no cats. *After being with his family his whole life, Blue is now sitting in a shelter because that family could no longer care for his needs.  *He is reactive from behind the cage bars but once he actually meets you outside of the cage, he is a friendly and nice boy.  *He is already house trained and used to walking on a leash.  *He isn't used to a lot of handling so it might take time for him to trust you but once that bond has been created, you are good to go!  *Blue can be trusted roaming free in a home and he would be a nice companion to take on car rides and vacations. *Blue is said to be good with other dogs but he would be best as the only dog in a home. *Blue is currently in our large dog adoption kennel so come in to meet him!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 8, 2024, 11:34 am

Story
Meet Bindi! This sweet lady came to us from a local municipal shelter so we do not know much about her past. So far she has been tolerant of all handling and seems to get along with other dogs. Since coming in to our shelter, we`ve noticed that she can be quite the cuddle bug, but is also a fan of just snoozing and hanging out. We will require a meet and greet with any resident canines in her future home to make sure everyone gets along, though. We are recommending Bindi go home with children 6 and up and her future adopters have some familiarity with her breed. Additionally, Bindi`s eye was in bad shape when she arrived here, so she needed to have it removed...Fortunately, the cost of this surgery has been covered! If you would like to meet Bindi or have more questions please speak with our kennel staff and they will be happy to help!

Story
Bellatrix   is a  beautiful  6.5-year-old Blue Heeler (aka Australian Cattle dog). She is: •  Very smart , intelligent, active, and  loyal ( what the breed is known fo r).   Previous owner noted she is very sweet and playful. •  A little nervous with new people but begins to warm up after a few minutes , so careful introductions  to strangers ,  and adult home only.  •  Very affectionate wit h  her special friends , but you  must earn that status . •  An  EXCELLENT  fetch  dog ( as in  chases the ball, brings it back, drops it at your feet, and sits for another throw . ) •  Q uiet , doesn’t bark a lot.  •  R ega l : She sits quietly on her pillow  in the kennel  watching the commotion going on around her , as if she doesn’t belong there (she really doesn’t) •  Tolerant of nearby  and noisy  dogs but would best  as an  only  dog in the home.  •  Crate trained . •  Active, n eeds regular exercise.   Field Trip:  Bellatrix jumped right into the car and settled in for the short ride to the park , where she met my daughter for the first time. She was a little shy  at  first but was so on   accepting  treats  from her .  I have taken her out   twice , but we’re still  only “friends ” and  she   just  tolerate s me . S he hasn’t granted me the “besties”  status   (that she has with  some of the caretakers that she’s  very affectionate with ) , but I’m working on it.  She  was easy on the leash  and  calm  on the walk.   On the way back, she jumped up into the car and sat down in the right spot for me to  clip her in .  She looked around on the way  back, taking in everything going on outside.  She is a calm,  intelligent,  sweet girl.  Funny quirks:  •  She sometimes walks sideways . •  She communicates with you. If she wants to play fetch, she’ll bring you a ball  and drop it at your feet.  (See video)  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 20, 2025, 5:56 pm
