Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Auburn, AL Meet River! She is an 1 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 45 lbs. She is microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention, but isn’t spayed. River is fearful of strangers! She is good with other dogs! She hasn’t been tested around younger children or cats. No children, due to her reactivity! River is housebroken and crate-trained. The owner is surrendering her because they are unable to provide the time and attention that she needs, which has increased her anxiety. They are also wanting to have children in the future and are unable to afford training for her. She needs to go by 8/1! If you think you can provide a great home for River, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing River. Owner’s Contact Information: Emily at emily16marie@gmail.com.

Story
Please make sure to read the narrative below our pet's photos as you will find a description of our pet with all we know about them, our adoption fee info, and you will find the link to do our online Adoption Application which is the first step in our Adoption Process!     Please read ALL below where you will find answers about the pet, our adoption fees and how to do our adoption application!   Pet Description:  Zayda was surrendered to us when their other dog did not like her.  We were told she is an Aussie/Rottie mix but given the herding/nipping at the heels instinct we are seeing in her, she may have Heeler in her as her desire to 'herd' is very high.  Let's say for children best with ten years old and up as toddlers and their parents may not understand her nipping at their heels to herd them.  Zayda is three-months-old as of late Feb and in a foster home so not at our Shelter.  She should be in the 60-70 lb range when fully grown.  From her foster mom:  'Zayda is very smart happy playful puppy.. absolutely loves the water! And quite the cuddle bug! Knows the doggy door!'   DOG ADOPTION FEE is $100. This Adoption fee includes: mandatory spay/neuter which will be done before you can take your dog or puppy home with you; basic canine immunizations (DHPP-CPV & Bordatella Intranasal); de-wormings; one-year rabies vaccination if old enough; heartworm test if over five months old; microchip from 24-Pet Watch; certificate for free health examination at your participating veterinarian; and a goodie bag chocked full of information, toys, and more.  (If a dog is sponsored or has a waived or lower fee, that info will be provided at the point of adoption to the approved adopter).   The first step is to our Adoption Application here:  https://elmorehumane.org/adoption-application-online-form2.html .   IMPORTANT – we respond to your emailed applications and queries via email back to you.  Please make sure you have either added our email  (hselco@bellsouth.net)  to your contact list or that you routinely check your SPAM folder for our response just to be safe. If we do not receive a timely response we simply move on to another applicant.   To learn more about us, visit our Website at: http://www.elmorehumane.org;  Phone: (334) 567-3377 Fax: (334) 567-8774 E-mail: hselco@bellsouth.net February 28, 2025, 10:56 am
