Meet Rocky – A Loyal and Energetic Aussie Mix Looking for His Perfect Match! Rocky is a 4-year-old Blue Heeler/Australian Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a mind always ready for action. Weighing 35 pounds, he’s the perfect size for an experienced adopter who understands the unique quirks of herding breeds. Rocky has already had at least two homes, and while he’s a sweet and affectionate dog, he needs a structured environment to truly thrive. He’s currently on anxiety medication to help him feel more secure, and he’ll do best with an experienced, patient owner who can provide the stability he craves. True to his breed mix, Rocky is highly intelligent, energetic, and deeply loyal. He has a natural tendency to be protective of his people and space. He has exhibited resource guarding, particularly around food bowls with other dogs, so he would do best as the only pet in the home. He has also shown guarding behaviors around people and has had incidents involving a crate and small children. Because of this, he needs a home without young kids and with someone familiar with managing a strong-willed, working-breed dog. Despite these challenges, Rocky has an incredibly sweet side. In the right hands, with an owner who understands herding breeds and their quirks, we believe he can truly flourish. He needs a leader who will provide structure, training, and plenty of mental and physical exercise. Rocky isn’t just looking for any home—he’s looking for the right home. If you’re an experienced dog owner ready to give this special boy the guidance and love he needs, he could be the loyal companion you’ve been searching for. Interested in meeting Rocky? Ari is very sweet, funny and energetic. She is incredibly enthusiastic and loves her family and all other dogs a little too much at times. She is good about going outside to use the bathroom. Her behavior can be difficult when she is not getting the attention she needs. She is very food motivated. Her excitement can make her difficult around kids , but she can learn easily .

Story
Meet Cotton Candy! Meet the sweetest, funniest, goofiest boy around. Cotton is a little over a year old and full of Aussie energy. Cotton is looking for a family that has a great sense of humor and an understanding of the needs of this fun breed.Cotton is a double merle as is evident by his fluffy, white coat. It also can impact vision and hearing. In Cotton’s case he is completely deaf but does have some vision- mainly shadows. But this has ZERO effect on this boy and the wonderful life he will live!Cotton loves playing with other dogs and is generally fantastic with them- he is still a young, male Aussie that can’t always read other dog’s signals. Occasionally, he irks his companions but he’s a quick study and rarely repeats a misstep. He has been as respectful as he’s able to with the resident cats. Cotton loves all humans he meets- big and small!Cotton is a good boy in his crate and has (knocks on wood) figured out house training like a champ. Cotton loves to go for runs with his foster dad and is great at it. He’d be a wonderful training companion. Cotton is an active boy and needs to keep his brain and body busy. He’s smart and willing. Training him is a joy!Cotton is looking for a family that will encourage, train and help him continue to live a wonderfully full life. Herding dog knowledge is helpful but not necessary if you are willing and able to provide him the stimulation he needs. He does need another, welcoming dog in his new home. The give him a familiar, easy way to learn his new environment.Cotton will be endless laughs and the occasional head shake for his new family. They will truly be the lucky ones!So cute! Super cute!Cotton has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations. He has also tested negative for heartworm disease. His adoption fee is $450.00 plus sales tax. Please submit an adoption application if you have questions about Cotton or would like to meet him.

Story
Duke -- The Duke of Dogs! Duke is a mature 6 year old who has experienced many things and learned many things in his short life. What does he know? Duke knows he really loves humans and enjoys hanging out with them wherever they are. He loves his doggy beds which means he doesn't get on the furniture or hog your bed at night. He really enjoys when you get down on the floor with him. He will come over to you and just plop on your lap. This is so he can get lots and lots of love and attention!! Duke also enjoys the company of other dogs, ones that he can play with by wrestling on the floor laying down. He will do some running around the yard with them. This may happen more once he loses some weight. What else has Duke learned in his life. He has learned that he has to have insulin 2x per day. He is a really good dog when it comes to getting his shots. You feed him and when he is all done, he comes and sits nicely waiting for you to give him his shot and of course the treat he gets for doing all of this so nicely! We are hoping that as Duke loses some weight that this will help with his insulin needs. He will probably always need it but hopefully in smaller quantities. Duke -- the Duke of Dogs--loves dogs--loves humans--enjoys a good bone--no need for a crate - free roam is perfect as far he is concerned--doggy door to be able to go out when he needs would be amazing but not required (extra potty trips are needed due to his diabetes)PLEASE get your app in and help us find this loving sweet dog a home! If you can't adopt, please let your friends know!!Friendly, happy house trained 6 year old.Duke needs insulin every day.Also..Very loving, Dog friendly, Gentle & Happy, Well behaved guy.He doesn’t make a big deal out of his daily shots. Makes it very easy!We are waiving his adoption fee. Let us know if you want his handsome fella in your life.____Please Note: We ask that an application be filled out before coming to the shelter. Story
Hi! I’m Malbec. (My name suggests wine, but I don’t whine at all!) My ideal day is to wake up when my person does, do a full stretch and then I am ready for breakfast. Then I like to go on a quick walk and do my business outside. If I can, I will stay outside, lay on the grass and watch the people, cars, birds and other dogs go by my yard. After a morning nap, I would love to go for another walk or just hang out in the yard. I think hanging outside is my favorite thing to do – no wait, my favorite thing is to be pet or have a nice belly rub. When it is time for bed, I prefer to sleep on the floor next to my fosters’ bed. Then do it all again the next day.I absolutely love being with people and kids. Did I mention, I get along with all other dogs. If you want a companion in the car, I am your guy. If you can’t take me in the car with you, I will tolerate a kennel for a little while.I just overheard my fosters talking about me … they said I am the best dog they have ever had, they said I am friendly, laid back, easy going, such a great loving dog. I guess I can hold my head high and be proud!I hope to meet a great loving person or family soon. I have all this love to give back. Thanks for reading about me!Love Malbec.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Select the "Apply for Adoption" if you would like to adopt Hi, I am Casanova I am from Arkansas. From his foster: Meet Casanova, better known as “Nova” or “Nuggie” because he was just a little nugget when we got him! Nova arrived in MN from Arkansas on 2/15 with his 8 siblings. He is about 13 weeks old and 9 pounds. He is listed as an Australian Shepherd mix, but while he definitely has Aussie legs and markings, now that his ears are up, we really feel like he might have more German Shepherd in him. The one thing we’re certain of – he’s adorable and a funny little guy! He’s also really smart and treat motivated. Nova is definitely all puppy right now but will also be a higher-energy dog who would likely love an active family. Daily walks and activities to keep his body and mind busy will be important. While he can be a little timid at first, he’ll be marching around like he owns the house in no time at all. He LOVES playing with other dogs so would very much benefit from a playmate who can keep up with his energy. He wears out both of our resident Boston Terriers on a daily basis. He is also your typical biting puppy. Hands and ankles are the most fun toys ever and while he can become hyper-focused on them, he will eventually redirect to a fun toy. Someone who understands he is a puppy and will outgrow this phase will be important! When he’s tired, he trades those bites for kisses and cuddles - he’s such a sweet cuddler! He also LOVES having his belly scratched. He is currently doing well sleeping in a bed in his crate at night. He’s still young and can’t hold his bladder all night so we have a small fenced area with pee pads he uses at night so he can relieve himself and go back to sleep. He uses this same area during the day if we have to leave. He came to MN during the extreme cold so we started training him on pee pads. He will go potty outside but not as consistently as the pee pads just yet. We’re working on it! He does cry a little when we leave him but he quiets down quickly. He loves his people and wants to be close to you so he will likely be your shadow. He often sleeps by our feet when working from home or follows us around the house so he knows where we are. They don’t come much cuter than this little guy!
