Story
Havana is a four-year-old female Australian Shepherd mix with a calm and affectionate personality. She’s a mature girl who’s ready to find her forever home with a loving family. Her gentle soul and warm heart make her the perfect companion for anyone looking to add a furry best friend to their life! The Pros of Adopting Havana:• People-Lover: Havana adores human company and thrives on affection and cuddles.• Kid-Friendly: Gentle and patient, she’s a great fit for families with children.• Dog-Friendly: Havana gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine sibling.• Mature & Relaxed: At 4 years old, she’s past the puppy stage and ready to settle into her new home.• Perfect Companion: She’ll happily join you for a walk, a drive, or a quiet evening on the couch.Things to Keep in Mind:• Escape Artist: Havana is clever and has a knack for sneaking out of yards or gates. A secure, well-fenced yard is a must for this adventurous girl.• Nervous with Fireworks & Weather: Loud noises like fireworks or thunderstorms can make her uneasy. She’ll need a safe, quiet spot to feel secure during these times.Havana is heartworm positive, but that is a treatment we can do for you right here at the shelter once she is adopted! This sweet girl is the kind of dog who will reward your love and care with unwavering loyalty, sweet snuggles, and years of happy memories. If you’re looking for a devoted and affectionate companion, Havana is ready to fill your heart and home with joy.

Story
UPDATE!!&#226&#156&#168 Meet Bonnie Lou! This sweet girl and her siblings were surrendered when their family could no longer care for them! We assisted in getting parents altered who we are told are Aussie (mom) and black lab (dad). These girls are 5 months old and Bonnie weighs 30ish and is the largest of her litter. She is spunky and playful. Full of life and personality. Highly socialized and will make a wonderful family addition. She is utd, dewormed and spayed. Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
UPDATE!! Meet Kujo! This boy came to us from our local county shelter. He’s an adorable Aussie mix. He’s around 2 years and 35 lbs. He was a little timid at the shelter when he first arrived but has turned into a total lovebug at his foster home. He’s still a little timid in new situations but does open up quick.. He has settled into foster care and is doing wonderful. He loves cuddles and is good on a leash. He just needs a little patience while adjusting. He’s utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and neutered. Story
Dean is a 2-year-old Border Collie with the softest heart and the sweetest soul. He may be a little shy at first, but he’s the kind of dog who looks to his people for comfort and reassurance. When he’s unsure, he’ll gently rest his head on your leg, soaking up all the love and letting you know he trusts you. Once he feels safe, his loyal and affectionate nature shines through. Dean gets along well with other dogs and would love a calm, friendly companion to help him feel at ease. He can be a little nervous with loud noises, but with gentle encouragement, he’s learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. He’s thoughtful, observant, and always checking in with his humans—whether it’s a reassuring glance or a quiet moment by your side. The best part? Dean is already neutered and heartworm negative, which means he’s ready to go home the same day he finds his perfect match! If you’re looking for a gentle, loving dog who will always look up to you with trust and admiration, Dean is ready to be your loyal best friend.
