Story
Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Waltham, MA Leo is an 3 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 60 lbs. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Leo is good with younger children! He hasn’t been tested around older children or cats. He is leash reactive towards other dogs while on walks. His owner says he is good with dogs once he has the chance to be in contact with them. He has previously worked with a trainer in his reactivity. The owner is surrendering him because he is reactive towards people once they are inside the home (he is fine with people out in public). They are unable to provide the exercise that he needs. He needs to go by 10/20! If you think you can provide a great home for Leo, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Leo. Owner’s Contact Information: Rebecca at rlpbu5@vt.edu.

Story
In Murfreesboro - Meet Storm (commonly referred to as Stormo in his foster home)! He’s guessed to be about 2 yrs old and is about 30 lbs, so he’s a nice sized Aussie but don’t let that fool you. He has lots of energy that he needs to get out during the day and needs extra mental stimulation as well. He really likes to chew on things, so if you don’t give him an approved chew item he will find one for himself (he likes large blankets and your favorite sandals). If he’s discovered with an unapproved item though he’s easy redirected and will happily continue chewing away on one of his toys. He is housebroken but if excited or scared he does pee a little. He does ok if left home with his foster brother, but can get into mischief so he either needs continued crate training or a safe place with no opportunities for trouble. His foster parents are working on crate training, which Storm actively dislikes. When he arrived at his foster home he was very timid… his confidence has grown substantially in just a couple weeks! He adores his foster brother and frequently initiates play, never bothering if his foster brother is a little moody. He loves to play chase and wrestle, always a very lighthearted play style. He is a high-velcro boy; you will always hear his jingle-jingle or tap-tap behind you! Storm is a super bubbly, bouncy little guy, loves dragging around ropes that are bigger than him and will chase a ball for a little bit until he gets distracted by belly rubs (they are his absolute FAVORITE!). Storm gets serious cases of the zoomies, so much so that sometimes his little legs just can’t go fast enough and he will tumble over himself… quite the show to watch! He does have a nice off-switch and loves to cuddle anytime you’re available. He also loves to give kisses. And I do mean LOVES to give kisses… ALL the time. Storm would like to have a canine buddy, but this isn’t a requirement as long as he has people around a majority of the time. He does needs some sort of space to run and get energy out. Not recommended for anyone who couldn’t catch themselves as they trip over him, he is always underfoot. Hasn’t been kid-tested but his foster parents think he would do fine in a kid home, he does not show strong herding instincts. He is neutered, UTD on shots and preventions and ready to go to his forever home! Fostered in Murfreesboro, TN. If Storm sounds perfect for your family, please fill out our application: https://www.australianshepherdsfurever.org/adoption-application There is an additional $20 microchip fee which includes registration and transfer to his new furever family.

Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Peabody, MA Meet Sky! He is an 6 year old Australian Shepherd and weighs 60 lbs. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and on heartworm prevention. Sky is fearful of strangers! He prefers females more than males. He hasn’t been tested around cats. No kids or dogs, due to his reactivity! Sky has bitten 3 people when they left the house. One of these bite incidents was a child who was transitioning from one room to another. Another bite incident occurred when a female neighbor turned away after petting him. Sky will destroy a room and bark incessantly when people are over while he is locked up in a room. The owner is surrendering him because of his fear aggression towards visitors in the home. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Sky, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $150 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Sky.
