Story
This beautiful girl is called Kenzie, and she is from what we can tell,  a husky/ Australian Shepherd mix that defies definition in character and charm and intelligence. This girl is approximately 4-5 months old.And weighs twenty eight pounds. Her story is not uncommon in the south, but it definitely was one of abuse or more accurately qualified as neglect.  She was located in a very small pin that was outside with very little cover. No straw low temperatures and food thrown on the ground without a bowl and frozen water in the water bucket her owner was actually homeless and not even in the area due to illness.   We expected a very emotionally damaged girl as well as physically harmed, but that was not the case.   Our girl Kinsey is a survivor and a brilliant puppy. Full of life and resilience and confidence.  She adores other dogs young children comma is fine with cats.If that is what she needs to live with.  She has beautiful eyes that are the color of blue in one and brown in the other.  Her charming personality is bold happy and full of smiles an energy.  She embraces life with the full expectancy that she will give good and good will come back to her.And that is what we have promised her at critter cavalry rescue. We will not settle for anything but the best. And our hope is that she will have a home filled with laughter and activities thar also include a homd with a fenced yard, and long walks or jogs, along with excursions in the car that the best of great outdoor events. Kinsey is a dog that will make you live with a big soul and a ready expectation to good things to happen in your life.  She brings great karma to all who meet her.   If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained and undeniable beauty, then please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com. Story
We're about to change the life of this beautiful 3 year olf male tricolored Mini Aussie called Chip.  At approximately forty pounds of weight, this boy has spent most of his young life tied to a tree with very little kindness shown to him by demand that was his owner.  Fortunately, this dog is not behaviorally damaged or physically hurt.  We do know that loneliness and lack of love and kindness can cut deep on a soul, whether it be a human or an animal.  Chip is in a foster home staying with a woman that begged the man to please let her have this dog that was tied up in the 7 inches of snow. It took a while to convince the man to let him go. But we now rejoice in having him in our care and to be neutered on Monday, January 20tn. Chip's life will be forever changed.   Huse, loving so appreciative of the care and kind words spoken to him. He is great playing with other dogs and has discovered. What fun toys can be.  He's not really great on a leash, but that will come with time and practice.  Great training is underway, and that should go fine and quick.  He is housebroken, if you watch for signals, and we do know that cats are NOT a possibility for him to live with.  He is learning how to ride in a car and enjoy it. And he is transforming quickly, everyday, been to a great dog that promises to be someone's wonderful companion.   If you are interested in making Chip your very own and promising him the good life that he deserved from the day he was born, please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 22, 2025, 10:27 pm

Story
Mr. Smee came to us as part of a litter of pups whose breeder was unsuccessful in selling them. Smee and his siblings were surrendered at over 5 months of age, meaning they missed out on quite a bit of socialization. Not to worry though, our in-house babysitting dog Leslie has helped him come out of his shell. Mr. Smee is nervous of new people, but once he makes a friend he is friends for life. Mr. Smee is selective about his dog friends, but he is very playful with those he deems worthy. Unfortunately, Mr. Smee was born with multiple congenital heart deformities, giving him a severe heart murmur. Luckily, Smee is pretty good about self regulating his own exercise needs and takes breaks on his own. That being said, there is no way of knowing what his life expectancy will be. Due to the severity of his heart problems, Mr. Smee is not a candidate for surgery here, so he has not been neutered. Having an unneutered dog presents its own challenges that need to be considered. Staff would be happy to talk more with an interested adopter about both his health needs, and life with an unneutered dog. If you are interested in Mr. Smee, please email us at info@rescueleague.org

Story
Yzma is a terribly shy Mini Aussie pup. She was a part of a litter of pups whose breeder was unsuccessful in selling them, so they were surrendered at over 5 months old. Yzma is shy with humans and any progress she has made has come mostly from her in-house babysitter dog Leslie. Yzma does not walk on leash, and does not enjoy being touched. She is beginning to approach the people she knows, but would prefer to have short interactions with no pressure from the human. Yzma will need a very patient home who is willing to respect her boundaries as she becomes more comfortable. Due to her fearful nature, Yzma needs a secure physically fenced yard at this time to learn about house training and leash skills. This girl would benefit from a dog friend in her next home to help show her the ropes, however, this dog has to go at her pace and not be too forceful. We would consider sending Yzma home with her brother Mr. Smee who is in need of a hospice home for his congenital heart condition. She is available for adoption or foster to fearful dog experienced homes. IF you are interested in fostering her, you must live in NH within 30 minutes of the shelter, as a home visit is required for all foster homes. For more information about Yzma, please email info@rescueleague.org
