Story
Valley Girl. This little girl is the sweetest. Initially found as a stray, Valley was facing euthanasia as she was so scared in the shelter environment. You ought to see her run and play with the other dogs now! Valley may be shy initially but once you've earned her trust, she's a joyful, happy, funny, silly, sweet affectionate pup. Potential adopters will need to come and spend time with her on multiple occasions, but it will be so worth it. All it takes is a little patience to reap her as your incredible reward. Valley loves other dogs and is good with cats. She does need a fenced-in yard as although she loves to explore on quiet wooded trails, she thrives in a well-known, stable environment. Valley is approximately 4 yrs. old and 35 lbs. She's the perfect sized pooch! Want more info on Valley Girl? We don't blame you a bit. Don't call! Go to: www.AlmostHomeDogRescueNC.com to submit your no-cost/ no-obligation adoption application. An Adoption Coach will then reach out by phone to tell you all about this special girl. Story
URGENT Courtesy Post: Owner Surrender/Rehoming- Boone, NC Fig is an 1 year old Australian Shepherd/Miniature American Shepherd/Husky/Border Collie mix and weighs 50 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on shots, but isn’t on heartworm prevention. Fig is nervous around strangers! He is good with kids, cats (as long as they don’t run away from him), and dogs! He is housebroken and crate/trained. Fig bit a visitor in their home the day after his foot surgery. This occurred when a visiting child was making food in their kitchen and Fig jumped up, putting pressure on his injured foot. She pushed him off the counter and he froze before he bit her. He is currently on Prozac. He has some leash reactivity towards cars and other dogs. The owner is surrendering him because of his fear aggression and they have children. They have worked with a behavioral trainer who said he would do well in a less chaotic home. He needs to find a new furever home as soon as possible! If you think you can provide a great home for Fig, please contact the owner listed below. There is a $100 rehoming fee to assure good folks with good intentions. This fee will be donated to Australian Shepherds Furever for their assistance in placing Fig. Owner’s Contact Information: Byrony at bluebirdexchange@gmail.com.

Story
We rescued Rip from a bad home and from ending up on the street, weren’t sure if he’d be a good fit for us (we’re Great Dane people) and we’re not allowed to have more than our one dog per our lease. But we knew at the very least we’d find him a good home and keep him off the streets. He’s good with cats, good with dogs, needs adjustment time to get used to dogs coming into his house and great with kids, infants unknown just cause he’s got a lot of energy. His previous owners shaved him at one point (not supposed to fully shave doublecoated dogs) so he overheats if outside too long, needs to not be an outdoor dog. He's insanely friendly and lovable but he was attacked as a puppy so he’s protective of his ears. Even with that protectiveness though, he keeps his cool he just prefers them not to be messed with. Will let Vets touch them if peanut butter is involved haha love and treat motivated. He’s such a good dog and deserves a good family that will love him as much as he will them.

Story
Hi! My name is Timothy. I am a really sweet pup, and I am just looking for my furever home! My mom is a purebred miniature Aussie (she weighs 21 lbs) and we think our dad was a beagle. I am 8 weeks old (born around April 29, 2024), weigh about 5 pounds, and I love dogs, cats and kids. I am doing so well with all of them in my foster home in South Carolina! I am neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, dewormed, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for my age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. I am all ready to be adopted :) My adoption fee is $450, and covers all of my vetting, and includes transport within the next two weeks, if my new family lives in the northeast USA. ***PLEASE DO NOT FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION IF YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO ADOPT WITHIN THE NEXT TWO WEEKS**** Please visit https://www.apply.daybeforetherainbow.com/ to fill out an adoption application form or email my rescue at taryn@daybeforetherainbow.com! Thanks for checking me out!
