Story
I save her from a girl who was going to put her in a kill shelter. She got the dog during covid and didn’t want her anymore. Lilly is a beauty. High energy. I have worked with her to be crate trained, now has free rein of house, crate door open when she wants to go in or out of it, does not mess in house, goes in the fenced yard on her own, good with my cat, knows simple commands. Working on walking on leash but pulls and not good with other dogs on walks. Trying took on it. Gets excited when people come in the house. Needs redirected and told not to jump. The previous owner did not work with her. Old habits are hard to break but she has made great strides with me. Sleeps on the bottom of my bed and has a special pad on the couch to lay on. Loves car rides and going to Starbucks for a pup up. Favorite treat whipped cream. She needs a loving home with people who can be active with her. She is in a great place to be rehome. Everything I have bought for her will go with her.

**WE ARE CURRENTLY DOING ADOPTIONS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. YOU MUST CALL TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ADOPTING. PLEASE LEAVE US A VOICEMAIL IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO REACH US. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE AND UNDERSTANDING.- CCDP STAFF** Hi there. My name is Jingles. I'm about 1 1/2 years old and I weigh about 55 lbs. I was found as a stray in the Calcutta area and I was brought into the pound. I am a very sweet, energetic boy looking for a new family to love. I have been very good with people and I love going out for walks with the volunteers. I know some basic commands and I so appear to have been a house dog. I have been good around the other dogs here at the pound, but should meet any dogs I will live with in a new home to make sure we're compatible. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $152. We accept cash, check or credit/ debit cards for adoption fees. If you pay using a credit or debit card, a convenience fee of 2.39% will also be applied. If paying by check, you will need 2. One Check will be for the dog license, and one will be for your dog's adoption fee, which includes heartworm testing (for dogs 6 months of age old and older), parvo/distemper vaccine, rabies vaccine, bordetella vaccine, 3 days of panacur de-wormer, spay or neuter surgery, microchip, and a current Ohio dog license. We DO offer foster to adopt. (We will NOT accept cash for foster to adopt). We highly recommend you do a foster to adopt with your new dog if you are not 100% sure your new dog is going to work out in your home. Foster to adopt gives you a couple of weeks with the dog to make sure they are a good fit with your family before your payment is processed and the adoption is finalized. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. If the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills, in addition to their adoption fee if possible so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. We try our absolute hardest to never have to euthanize for space and have not had to do so for many years thanks to the ongoing support from the public and high adoption rates. Please remember; the adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm. Saturday, Sunday and holidays: 8 am - 12 pm. Adoptions are always welcome any day of the week/ weekend and on holidays. We are here everyday to care for the dogs and the best way to make our day is to see our dogs go to loving families. There is nobody in the office on Saturday, Sunday or holidays, so therefore, we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. We are only staffed to take care of the dogs and do adoptions over the weekends/ on holidays. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Story
JuJu is a 6 yr old Australian Shepard his owner cannot take care of him and he is in desperate need of a home. He has lived a hard life so far and has some anxiety issues because of that, He really is a sweet dog and with the right owner and training I think would thrive ! He doesn't get along with my dog and I cannot keep him but I would rather not send him to a shelter that will end up possibly putting him down!

Story
Nova is a 6-month-old mini Australian Shepard. Nova was adopted from PetLand in Robinson in October 2024. Nova is full of energy and loves to run/play. She knows basic commands like sit, stay, down. Nova is still working on potty training but still has some problems with going inside of the house. I am looking for someone to adopt Nova that has room within the house she would be rehomed to. With Nova’s breed, she likes to/needs to run. I am in apartment living and have very little space for her to run and do not have a yard. I am also looking for someone that does not work extensive hours. I am away for 24 hours at a time due to work and having her while on my work schedule is not working out.

Story
Heartworm Preventative: 13th of every month Flea and Tick: 13th of every month Yoshi likes women best. Yoshi is very leary of men, he needs several introductions to new men in his life to know he can trust them. Most women he meets he makes up with after a short time, some he likes immediately. He was treated roughly by a small child and father. He will not be adopted out to a family with children as that would not be fair to the children or Yoshi. Active and likes to play. Very smart. Loves attention from those that he trusts. He gets along with all of us here at Orphans even the men, but he needed time to get to know you. NEEDS AN ADOPTER WITH AUSSIE EXPERIENCE AND FENCED IN YARD. Bite History: Prior history to coming to us. 2 bites. 1. child, 2. neighbor. 10/15/2023 a Volunteer PA 1137
