Story
This puppy is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $250 if picked up in TN, $325 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. If you're looking for a furry companion with a heart of gold and a smile that could light up the room, Murphy is your guy! This 1-year-old, 31-pound collie mix is the perfect blend of playful and chill. Murphy loves to romp around the yard with other dogs, chase after toys, and go on leash walks—he’s a true adventurer at heart. But don't be fooled by his playful side; when it’s time to relax, Murphy knows how to settle in for a cozy nap, preferably by your feet. Murphy is a smart cookie who’s already nailed commands like sit, down, come, and wait. He's also housetrained and crate trained, making him an easy addition to your home. While he might give a few barks when meeting new people, once he sees you’re comfortable, he’s all in for pets and love. This gentle soul gets along wonderfully with other dogs and even enjoyed playing with a 12-year-old boy. Murphy would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time and would love a fenced yard to explore. He’s the perfect size for walks and has zero aggression, making him a great fit for dog parks or a home with other pets.  Ready to bring home a pup who’s as sweet as he is smart? Murphy is waiting for you!   Interested in adopting? Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption. August 19, 2024, 3:30 pm

Story
Max is fun, loving, very energetic, and friendly. The previous owners reported that he plays well with other dogs. They believe he would be happiest in a home with a big yard for him to run around in. Max was previously housetrained, but the owners say that he spent the past few months living outside and may need to be re-trained. So far, he has kept his kennel very neat since he arrived at the shelter. He is friendly towards children; however, due to his playfulness and his energy level, we do not recommend a home with small children. He may accidentally knock them over. If you visit the shelter, you will immediately notice Max, as he can be very loud and will do whatever it takes to command your attention. Thankfully, he is only like this when in his kennel! He calms down significantly once he is out of the kennel. Max would benefit from some basic obedience classes and would likely enjoy learning new tricks! He is exceptionally smart. Max would make the ultimate running partner, and would also probably enjoy going on hikes.

Story
Carmel and his brother were surrendered to the shelter for financial reasons. He is a neutered male that will be 5 years old in October. The previous owner said Carmel is good with other dogs, cats and children of all ages. He was an indoor/outdoor dog but stayed indoors at night and is housebroken. Carmel is sadly severely overweight. He weighed about 100lbs upon arrival at the shelter. He also suffers from some mild allergies which have caused some hair loss around his hind end. The previous owner said Carmel has had an occasional seizure which they said the vet was due to him being overweight although there is nothing about that on the vet records we received. He has not had a seizure while with us. Carmel is currently being fostered at a local boarding facility/groomer. Please call Dog & Company,931-528-2275, if interested in meeting Carmel. Thanks to a generous donor, Carmel`s adoption fee has been reduced to $70

Story
Nova’s momma was discovered pregnant along with 2 other pregnant dog moms on a community member’s property. We were able to help out one family at our and ended up with Rosie and her 5 babies! The babies will continue working on weaning from mom and must be spayed/ neutered before they can go home with their new families! Mom looks to be a Aussie/Border Collie mix and we aren’t sure what dad might be. They will be available after they recover from their spay/neuter surgery on September 3rd but we are accepting applications for them now! Please note this dog is a PUPPY and will require more patience and training than an adult dog.
