All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.   We also host additional adoption events throughout the year.  Please visit our Facebook pages for the most current event schedules.   https://m.facebook.com/HomewardBoundDogRescue/?tsid=0.11494693985281179&source=typeahead   https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=185497084826453&tsid=0.7626298417270982&source=typeahead     If your adoption application is approved and you are traveling from out-of-town, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time.     We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.     Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.   Please apply here:   http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/   March 10, 2025, 8:10 pm

Story
Val is a beautiful and well-rounded Australian Shepherd mix who is looking for her forever home. This girl loves tossing around her toys, rolling around, and being silly. She wants to keep you company but isn’t clingy… She just likes to curl up in the room where you are. Val is also great with small children—so gentle and sweet! With her most recent foster family, she proved to be an excellent companion for their 1.5-year-old and would offer delicate kisses in exchange for pets. She was respectful of food around the high chair and settled easily into a pack environment once properly introduced to their dogs. Plus, she doesn’t mind playing dress-up or participating in our SNIPSA shenanigans! At a recent office party, we learned that Val will do anything for chicken jerky treats, meaning she will make a good candidate for training. That said, she is already perfectly potty trained and an ideal walking/running partner! Val truly is the perfect family dog, and anyone would be lucky to have her. Apply to meet Val today!

Story
Some things are just meant to be, and that’s exactly how we felt when we met Valentine and Venus at ACS. We couldn’t leave these gorgeous girls behind! While we can’t say for sure, we believe that Valentine is Venus’s mama—and their bond is truly something special. Both are Australian Shepherd mixes, which means they’re not just beautiful dogs, but they’re also smart and loving. Valentine is gentle, calm, and greets everyone with a little wag of her tail, while Venus is a playful, curious girl with tons of smooches in store. These sweeties would enjoy a home together, but we are confident they would thrive separately with loving families. If you’re looking for a loyal companion—or even a dynamic duo—Valentine and Venus are ready to steal your heart! Apply to meet them today and let their love story continue with you!
