Rusty came to us from Ozark Pet Rescue down in Missouri when a breeder felt he was too old to be of use. He is a happy go lucky guy and is always smiling. When Rusty greets you his whole backend wiggles with joy. Rusty's looking for his new home where he can offically be retired and just be a dog. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age appropriate vaccines. If you're interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website at sftsrescue.org/adoptableanimals

Hello! My name is Trisha, and boy am I so happy to meet you (you should see my waggy tail)! While I can be shy at first, I am so excited to meet my furever friend! I am looking for someone who will help me get comfortable in my new home and welcome me into their family! Who wouldn't want this cute little pooch as part of their crew? Hope to meet you soon!I am healthy overall, but it is always a good idea to introduce me to my new veterinarian when you bring me home, so I can meet the doctor who will help you help me stay healthy and strong!

Story
Banks is fostered in Ottumwa, Iowa.  Say hello to this handsome and INCREDIBLY sweet boy named Banks. Banks is a male, standard aussie, weighing about 40 lbs and is estimated around 5 years old. Banks is a SWEET boy and would love nothing more than a home with plenty of love and another outgoing dog friend. Banks' first few years were spent with approximately 60 other dogs on a property.  When the man was getting evicted, he gave away all the dogs to random people that arrived to pick one out.  Thankfully, Banks was given to a responsible person that allowed us to take him into rescue. His coat was in rough shape with matting and had to be shaved.  His coat has returned nicely and he looks REMARKABLE. Banks goes to doggie daycare and plays well with many other dogs. Banks will chill after a fair amount of play, chew on antlers or bones. Banks is being fostered with many other dogs and does wonderfully. Banks has great house manners; is crate trained and house trained. While Banks is a little timid and shy, he is SOOO happy and has learned SO MUCH in foster care.  He does seek out pets from his foster home and even gives a few kisses.  He also sleeps in the bed with other dogs and does VERY well being left out in the house. Banks will do best with another outgoing, social dog in the home to take cues from.  Banks does require a physically fenced yard.  Banks is even good with cats.  Little kids may scare Banks, so no children under 10 years of age.   Banks is neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccines (including Lyme) and is receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms.  Proof of heartworm preventatives for all past and current pets is required to adopt from us.  If you have what it takes to help Banks blossom into the bestest boy, please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, see our adoption fees, and find a link to our adoption application.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org.   NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##1850267##

Story
Bernie is being fostered in Henderson, Kentucky. Drumroll please!!!!!  Announcing Bernie the beautiful black tri boy! Bernie is one big, bouncy, boisterous boy!  He loves everyone and everything, including other dogs.  He is young, about 2, and very, very playful.  He loves his toys and loves having his people play with him.  He is quite large and he is overweight but with additional exercise and weight loss kibble he is losing the extra pounds. Bernie weighs about 67 lbs and still needs to lose about 5-10 lbs but for a dog that is a lot so we are taking it slow and steady! Bernie’s original owner had to give him up to enter into a care facility.  He then went to a home where he was kept in the garage.  He probably had a lot of treats, some table food and very little exercise.  When he did go outside, he wandered off, probably looking for companionship.  He is a Velcro dog, so much so that he doesn’t want to go outside unless he knows for sure you are going too. He has quite a fine appetite (but he does not like green beans) and enjoys treats.  He seems to sit automatically when he knows a treat is on its way.  He’s very smart, letting us know he doesn’t like green beans first by carrying out the bowl with only the green beans remaining in it and whining, and the next day by hiding the green beans under the cabinet.  Did we mention that he is smart?  He is a talker and a communicator too.  He responds to some questions with vocalizations.  He asks for things he wants, like rolling onto his back for a belly rub. He is SUCH a ham! He has been in his foster home for three weeks and has never had an accident in the house and when he has been alone in the house for several hours at a time has never damaged anything. He has great house and potty manners!  Probably a master's degree in house manners and could teach others the same! This boy is SMART, SMART, SMART!  He is learning so many fun things in his foster home!  He still jumps up on people when he meets them because he is so excited to see a friend, but is learning not to.  He just wants to play, have fun and that’s what he’s wanting when he puts his paws on you. Because of his size and his age, very young children would probably not be a good match because he could easily knock one over, but children 8+ would probably be fine for him.  If you are ready for a young, enthusiastic, happy dog, please give Bernie your consideration.  He is an absolute gem! Bernie is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, negative for all tickborne diseases, microchipped and on prevention for fleas, ticks and heartworm.  If Bernie sounds like your next family member, please complete an adoption application today!  Bernie requires a committed adopter who is willing to devote 1 - 2 hours of mental and physical stimulation per day.  Proof of heartworm purchase for any current or past pet is required to adopt.   NOTE:  All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers; we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in.  Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application.  We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family.  MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives.  www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org ##2086308##
