Story
This is Beatrice. Available for Medical Adoption Animal ID A855145 Let me start with saying Bea is a Beautifully Typical English Bulldog. Current weight is 43lbs 9 months old. Bea also has a serious heart condition. More info coming. Temperament is Stubborn, Pushy, bully at times, especially with older dogs. Easily corrected. She is also Very Loving, smart, cuddly, loves belly rubs, Bene Bone chews and toys. In her foster home, she has large, medium and small playmates. Also, cats. She is respectful, but if they run, she will chase them in a non-aggressive way. Bea has not been exposed to children of any age. We suggest respectful children over 12 yrs old. She has a moderate energy level. On 4/13/2024, I took her in for a Dr check for possible ear infection, common in bulldogs. While under sedation to clean ears and perform x rays on hind end, Vet discovered a grade 3/6 heart murmur. Shelters Preliminary diagnosis on murmur and lameness, Congenital Heart Defect and Hind Limb Abnormalities. X rays on hind end were inconclusive. Over time her movement has gotten much better. Beatrice had her Cardiology visit on 4/26/2024. The Echo findings show a complex combination of congenital abnormalities. She is currently on Beta Blocker therapy. The medication is called Atenolol. The dosage is 25mg, 2 times per day. Dosage may increase as Bea matures and gains weight. A recent prescription filled at Walgreens pharmacy was only $34, for 1 month of meds. She has been on this medication since 4/26 and has been doing Fantastic. Beatrice will require on-going medical care to regulate her condition. Our shelter vet successfully performed Bea’s eye surgery and her spay. He said she got through her surgery with flying colors. He acknowledges Bea may have shortened life, he also feels, as I do, her life could be much longer. 2 + years. I believe there is an adopter out in the universe, who LOVES this breed, knows all of the little quirks, behaviors, temperaments and how to handle them. Maybe an adopter who already has a Bulldog with matching energy and temperament, who needs a companion. A person or people who can and will give Beatrice her absolute BEST LIFE, no matter how long, and treat her like a spoiled little Princess. This is the life she deserves. We will continue to foster this Beautiful little Soul, until the absolute PERFECT adopter is found. Please reach out if you have any questions. Sandy Caplinger gypsyredsc@gm

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi!! My name is Koa! ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I am a very sweet boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I am around 10 to 11 years old. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I am a pit bull mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I am 50 pounds of muscle. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I am a tan little muscular boy with a big smile and an even bigger heart. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I love my food and treats as well. I have discovered that I enjoy fruit as well like bananas, blueberries and apples. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I am a pretty chill little man that loves his chew toys. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day starts with grabbing my favorite toy and heading outside to do a little sniffing around. Then I take care of business and head back in the house to get breakfast. I usually like to fall back to sleep while chewing on my favorite toy. I nap most of the day, potty, eat, play…the simple things in life make me happy! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I love all toys that I can chomp down on, but I do have a pink rubber ball that is my favorite. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I have learned how to sit and I have discovered that I get treats when I do it. So, I sit even before I am asked to now. WHAT SCARES YOU? Loud noises like vacuums and fireworks scare me. HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? I do like children, but I don’t like to share my toys, so no children under 13 please. DO YOU LIKE CATS? No cats please. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I have been through a lot in my past, so I would like to get all of the attention. No other doggies please. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would like to be anywhere where I get lots of love and treats. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? I am a healthy boy. WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I currently live with my foster mom. Her boyfriend comes over frequently and I love to lay on his lap. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I hang out in my crate. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate. It is my safe, cozy space and I can relax and just be chill in there. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I like walking on my leash. I like to carry my pink ball with me as I walk on my leash. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I do like to steal brooms and chew them up, so brooms should be out of my sight. I also like to bark when playing with my pink toy outside. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? Heck yeah! I am all good with the potty stuff… no worries there! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I run to the bathroom for bath/shower time! Swimming? I am not built for water sports, so let’s make it a team effort to keep me safe from pools and other large bodies of water, okay? WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I have learned that people aren’t so bad. I get lots of cuddles and treats! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I had a not so good life before coming to NorCal Bully Breed Rescue. I was brought in after being shot in the head and arm. (Yikes, right? Scary!) But I am so lucky that NorCal Bully Breed Rescue took me in and nursed me back to health. I have put all that behind me now and I am doing great! I am looking for my forever home that can give me lots of love! Maybe you are looking for a chill guy who just wants to be loved and have a few toys to play with? I promise to love you for the rest of my life and give you lots of cuddles and kisses! ***KOA’s ADOPTION FEE IS $100** If you are interested in Koa please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org For more information on where we adopt to and what that means and why that is, please click on the following link: https://www.facebook.com/333019703483910/posts/3264412130344638/?extid=0&d=n Thank you so much in advance for understanding!!

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi, my name is Bilby! ARE YOU A BOY OR A GIRL? I’m a boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I’m approximately two years old as of August 2024. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? I’m a little bully mix. HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? I’m 33 pounds of handsomeness! WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? I have a tan/light brown coat and white chest. My back looks like there is a little brindle pattern close to my rump. My head is so cutely round that my foster mom nicknamed me “Meatball.” WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I like to eat anything my human gives me – peanut butter, blueberries, kibble, you name it and I’ll probably like it. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? I’m an easy-going, sweet boy who loves to be close to my human. I don’t have separation anxiety, I just like being around people and other dogs when I can. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: My perfect day is waking up and immediately going outside to walk around and potty. I then come inside for a yummy breakfast and mid-morning nap. I get to go on a walk at lunch time and play in the yard before another nap after having a yummy treat. When my human is done with work, I like to play with my stuffed animal and end up snuggling with my human on the couch until dinner. I also love taking rides in the car, it’s so fun (especially with a pup cup involved)! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? I like playing with Benebones/chews and stuffed animals. DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? I’m working on my sit, stay, and leash etiquette – just the basics! WHAT SCARES YOU? I’m a brave boy and not much scares me! HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? I have not been around children, but seem to get along with just about anyone/everyone. DO YOU LIKE CATS? I have not been around cats. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I love other dogs! I don’t mind them trying to play with me, and I also leave them alone when I want quiet. IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? I would be curled up on the couch getting belly rubs from my human. HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Aside from a limp due to a previous injury to my front left leg, I’m a healthy guy! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and my three foster (dog) siblings – I love all of them but especially my puppy friend Jasper who likes to play with me. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I curl up with a cozy blanket in my crate while I’m home alone. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? I sleep in my crate. DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I do like walking short distances on my leash and am a very polite gentleman! DO YOU HAVE ANY “NOT SO GREAT” HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? Meal time is my FAVORITE time, which makes me urgently barrel through the door to my crate so I’m learning patience. I also like to howl at meal time, which is more funny than a bad habit, according to my foster mom. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED (DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE)? I am fully house trained – no accidents and I’m excellent in my crate when I need to be napping! DO YOU LIKE WATER? I’m not the biggest fan of water but I’m not scared of it. I am alright with being in a bathtub, but I am definitely not built for water activities, so please keep me safe around pools or large bodies of water. WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love having a routine and having foster siblings to cuddle with. My mom works from home, so I am able to be around humans and dogs. They love me, take care of me, and keep me safe. I especially love when my foster mom gives me treats! WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I’m not sure what my life was like before, but I know I was in the shelter after being hit by a car. NorCal Bully Breed Rescue saved me and now I am ready to find my forever home! I would love to meet you so you can fall in love with me and we can cuddle and play forever! ⭐️BILBY’S ADOPTION FEE IS $300.⭐️ If you are interested in adopting BILBY, please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time, we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas (which means Sacramento County, parts of El Dorado County and parts of Placer County). Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sacramento- Meet Tootsie Roll, an adorable English Bulldog with a heart as sweet as her name. Tootsie Roll is a special pup, as she has Spina Bifida, a condition that affects her bladder and bowel control. Despite this, Tootsie Roll walks just fine, radiating joy with every step. To manage her incontinence, Tootsie Roll wears a diaper, a routine that, for those unfamiliar, is not as daunting as it may seem. It requires less than half an hour of care each day, and the more time without a diaper, the better off she is. This lovable Bulldog is, otherwise, a "normal" English Bulldog, complete with the charming quirks that make the breed so beloved. Tootsie Roll isn't a fan of hot weather, but the joys of diapers mean that outings are more flexible, especially during hot or rainy days. Despite facing the heartbreaking prospect of euthanasia due to her condition, Tootsie Roll's resilience shone through, and she is now ready to bring joy to a loving home. This happy and social girl adores attention, playtime, and, yes, she snores loud! Tootsie Roll would thrive in a home with another dog companion, relishing in playful interactions. However, humans willing to engage in tug-of-war and toss games will also find her to be the perfect playmate. Caring for a dog with Spina Bifida involves managing skin care and bowel and bladder functions, but this can be navigated through various approaches. Tootsie Roll's foster parent has found success by using a pen at night and during work hours to give her diaper-free time. For those interested in welcoming Tootsie Roll into their lives, the adoption process is conveniently available online at http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/. The adoption fee of $500 covers her spaying, microchipping, and up-to-date vaccines. This fee is waived for a home with a human also dealing with Spina Bifida, recognizing the unique connection that can be formed. To gain insights into caring for a dog with Spina Bifida, there's a helpful Facebook group dedicated to English Bulldogs with the condition. Additionally, for information on bowel management, the website https://www.handicappedpets.com/blog/bowel-management-incontinent-pets/ can be a valuable resource. Tootsie Roll is more than a pet; she's a testament to resilience and the capacity for love. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this special Bulldog, she is eagerly waiting for her perfect forever family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 4, 2024, 12:23 am

Story
Willow is looking for a person who understands a drivey bully breed/ bulldog temperament like hers, who loves the quirks of a bull dog, The Willow situation: Willow has lived with a wonderful family for a couple of years now. She is still in need of a home who is ideal for her and her special needs but she has come a very very long way. She is deaf and has one eye, she has been through a lot of personal training, is also trained in hand signs and to use a stim collar (vibrate recall) etc.In the RIGHT situation with routine she mostly lays around all day, and is an easy bull dog 90%. She needs a home without other animals and while she absolutely loves kids, she is too strong for them at times. This may seem silly, but the problem is that while she is VERY tolerant of kids, she is also an extreme leg humper🤦🏼‍♀️.. yup! And sometimes she gets super excited and will grab onto a leg and scratch you up if you don't correct her and kiddos aren't strong enough to do this. She is very very strong. In a home with other animals she is very different- she has high drive and becomes neurotic and overstimulated and very difficult in a home with other animals. In the wrong home she can be difficult to manage so we are looking for the right situation now that we have her figured out. Crate trained, potty trained, great temperament. She thrives and requires a strong calm structure and leadership. She can be very submissive to her people but can also be pushy and dominant if you aren't managing her properly. It is hard to get her attention with her hearing special needs and loss of an eye, so her person needs to continue to work on her on e collar recall/ hand signals. She has already received lots of training. We want to ensure that her adoptive home will love and keep her for life.🐾 Go to www.k9ppr.org to send us an adoption application and tell us all about you and the home you would give sweet Willow! #k9ppr loves their bulldogs! Opt to adopt!-Treadmill trained-Can get too excited (overstimulate), like many bully breeds, so she thrives and requires a strong calm structure and leadership.- Too much prey drive for cats, and while she can now be around other dogs in a controlled setting, she should not live with other dogs. - Can be very submissive to her people but can also be pushy and dominant if you aren't managing her properly. - She is Active but calms down and chills. - She loves kids but right now we are looking for an adult home It is hard to get her attention with her hearing special needs and loss of an eye, so her person needs to continue to work on her on e collar recall/ hand signals. She has already received intensive training, and is awesome with her trainer, who will give her adopter free training. We want to ensure that her adoptive home will love and keep her for life which the communication benefits from training will help with.Being special needs her adoption fee is just a donation of your choice towards her medical costs with the agreement that you do some free training with her trainer. However please note that bull dogs are not low cost dogs to own!🐾 Go to www.k9ppr.org to send us an adoption application and tell us all about you and the home you would give sweet Willow! #k9ppr loves their bulldogs! Story
Meet Macaron Cookie, the sweetest pup in town! Hey, I'm Mac, but you can call me Mac for short – 2 years old, 34 lbs of pure handsomeness, and a mysterious mix of  WHO KNOWS LOL... something bulldog and something active     My hobbies include howling at the moon (it's a dog thing), stealing treats (who can resist?), and long ear scratches (seriously, it's my weakness). Despite my charming looks, I'm still perfecting my 'how' etiquette and basic commands. But hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, right?   I'm a playful guy, 2 years young, who loves short walks and can be your Netflix buddy for the night – crate-trained and all! Did I mention I'm a foodie? Training me is a breeze when treats are involved!     I've got a soft spot for chasing small animals (cats and squirrels, watch out!) and chewing on bones. Not a fan of loud noises or thunderstorms, but if you've got treats, I'm a brave boy!   Overcoming shyness with men?I I am working on it. Treats involved of course. A trainer to help me overcome my shyness with men is recommended.   Great with kids 5+ and other dogs – I'm basically a social butterfly! Ideal home? Someone who can shower me with love, attention, training, and a dash of patience. Currently chilling in foster care near Oakland, CA. Interested in making me your forever buddy? Shoot an email to beourpet@gmail.com Let's make memories and have a pawsitively amazing time together! #AdoptMac #MacaronMagic #PawsomePal       GENERAL INFO:   Housebroken?: Yes, we think so Crate Trained?: Yes Leash Trained?: Yes Rides Well in Car?: Yes Non-Shedding?: No Good with cats?: Chases Good with dogs?: Yes Qualifies for Seniors for Seniors?: NO regular adoption fee applies Umbrella of Hope does not have any strict rules on ages of children because all children are different, but our best approximation is that this animal would do best with children over the age of 5 Umbrella of Hope is an all-volunteer, donation-run, non-profit animal rescue based out of Pittsburg, CA that rescues animals from local shelters, places them in private foster homes, provides them with needed medical care and then finds them new homes.  Also, ask us about our seniors for seniors program, where we adopt animals 5 years or older to qualified homes with a $5 donation as an adoption fee. Story
**French bulldogs are highly prone to major medical issues such as IVDD and heat stroke and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a bulldog-savvy home for Big Ed.**   Handsome, sweet, and cuddly, Big Ed is the whole package! Big Ed is a little charmer who is estimated to be 1-2 years old. He is the sweetest boy around and loves nothing more than hanging out with his people and enjoying lots of pets. He is an easygoing guy who could spend all day chilling on the couch if you let him. Big Ed is fully grown and weighs about 28lbs. Big Ed came to us from a local shelter after he was found as a stray with another Frenchie (Goose) and a Malinois puppy. He was never claimed by a family, so we wasted no time to bust him and Goose out of the shelter and they have been thriving in a foster home ever since. Big Ed and Goose seem like they may be father and son based on their ages. They do not seem bonded and would do just fine being adopted separately.  Big Ed is a mellow dude who enjoys the simpler things in life - food, cuddles, and the occasional stroll down the street. He is past all the puppy nonsense and has been enjoying life in the AC. Big Ed is very much a lap dog and his favorite place in the world is on someone's lap. He is a great napping buddy as long as you don't mind his snoring, haha. Big Ed seems like he hasn't had any basic manners training, so his new family will need to be dedicated to helping him learn things like not jumping on people to say hi. Big Ed has done well with the other small dogs he has met but seemed a little worried when introduced to a large dog. With a slow introduction, he may do well living with a large dog. Big Ed seems like he wouldn't mind being your spoiled-only dog. Big Ed has been doing well ignoring the cats in his foster home and seems like he could do well living with dog-savvy cats in his new home with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Big Ed could be a great addition to a home with kids 10 years or older. Big Ed has been doing well with his housetraining but still tries to mark inside every now and then. He is used to wearing male diapers to decrease his marking. Once his hormone levels decrease from being neutered, his marking behavior should decrease. Big Ed has been doing well being crated when his foster family is gone and at night. He has never been truly alone, so would do best with a family who can slowly acclimate him to being home alone if they don't have a dog buddy for him. Big Ed gets tired more easily and appears like he may benefit from  Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome. He will be evaluated for surgery before adoption. Depending on the urgency of his condition, adopters may be responsible for getting him his surgery post-adoption.  Big Ed is the bestest boy and he deserves the best home. If you think that might be with you, submit an adoption application today!   Big Ed's adoption fee is $500.     Apply to adopt here! https://form.jotform.com/52017002013129/  Applications are also available on the website (www.yolospca.org)  It can take up to 3-5 business days to hear back once you have submitted an application. The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes. Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. For more information about an animal, please email dogs@yolospca.org. Story
**French bulldogs are highly prone to major medical issues such as IVDD and heat stroke and require extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being. We are specifically looking for a bulldog-savvy home for Goose.**   Watch out world, here comes Goose! This loveable boy is estimated to be around 5 months old and is the perfect mix of chaos and cuddles. He very much is still in his puppy phase and loves to romp around and have as much fun as possible. He loves everyone he meets and is quick to charm people with his handsome looks and adorable antics. Goose currently weighs around 23lbs, he may grow a little more, but he will likely be under 35lbs when fully grown. Goose came to us from a local shelter after he was found as a stray with another Frenchie (Big Ed) and a Malinois puppy. He was never claimed by a family, so we wasted no time to bust him and Big Ed out of the shelter and they have been thriving in a foster home ever since. Goose and Big Ed seem like they may be father and son based on their ages. They do not seem bonded and would do just fine being adopted separately. Goose is your typical puppy who loves to have fun. It is always a good time for playtime in his mind. Once he has gotten his energy out, he loves to cuddle and is the best napping buddy (that is if you don't mind his snoring, haha). He is still learning all his basic manners, so he needs a family dedicated to continuing his training. He is a smart boy but needs some guidance on how to be the best boy he can be. Goose has done well with the other dogs he has met, and would love to have another dog in his forever home to play with. Due to his energy level, he likely would do best with another younger dog who could keep up with his rambunctious puppy energy. Goose thinks cats are fun to chase, so he would probably do best in a kitty-free home. Goose could be a great addition to a home with kids 10 years or older. Goose has been doing well with his housetraining, but he still isn't 100% trained, so his new family will need to be consistent about taking him outside and rewarding him when he potties outside. Accidents should be expected. Goose has been doing well with his crate training and is fine to hang out in there when his foster family is away and at night. He has never been truly alone, so he would do best with a family who can slowly acclimate him to being alone if they don't have a dog buddy for him. Goose is such a sweet boy and he deserves his happy-ever-after ending.
