Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.5/7/24 Happy Toothsday! These sweet girls are still available for adoption. They both have spina bifida which has left them completely incontinent. They wear diapers and do great staying clean with just a couple of diaper changes daily, and they sleep in a crate with a grate in the bottom at night so they can 'air out.' Aside from that, they are healthy and fully vetted. These little girls are just a joy to have. They have endless amounts of love to give, but they are excellent at playing together and entertaining themselves as well. They are very well behaved. They are happy to get any attention, but are not demanding if you are busy. They don't get into things they shouldn't, they are good about playing with their toys. They are strictly a package deal and absolutely will not be seperated, even if that means they stay here forever. But I would love for them to find a home with someone who can give them more time and attention than I can. I have spent a small fortune on them- beyond the regular vetting, I've also had soft palate surgery on Poundcake and cherry eye surgery on Shortbread, and then the cost of their diapers as they have grown, diapers liners, suspenders, etc. But I don't expect to get all of that back. This is the nature of rescue. The main goal is to find a home for them with someone who can afford to keep them in diapers and has the time to give them. With that said, they are not free and do have an adoption fee that is appropriate for their breed. It is a big commitment to have 2 dogs in diapers. But once you get into a routine, it's very easy to keep them comfortable, clean, and happy. These girls get along very well with other dogs and they love kids as well. Growing up in rescue, they have become a little bit shy with new people, only because they haven't been around many people besides us. But they warm up very quickly. Poundcake (brown and white) is the more cuddly of the two. She loves to sit in a lap, give all the kisses, and just snuggle as much as possible. Shortbread (brindle and white) is the more busy, playful of the two. She also loves to cuddle but once she's had her loves, she is ready to get down and play. Neither are high energy dogs. In fact they are the typical, slow, kind of lazy English Bulldogs. Short bursts of playful energy followed by a long nap is their jam. They are about 6-7 months old and weigh about 35 lbs each. They are located in Arkansas but transport to some New England states is available. Story
Meet Tevya very shy and timid at first but then look out for the cuddles, he is neutered and up to date on the vaccines available for adoption only for approved homes This baby was taken in by a concerned person because he was wandering a neighborhood for a couple of weeks. Instead of turning him in to animal control, they did the responsible thing and had Tevya vetted while holding him until a rescue could take him in. He is a swell guy, happy go lucky and loves everyone. Not that large, just kinda chunky...

Story
CODY is a three year-old English bulldog with spina bifida. This is most likely a result of inbreeding which unscrupulous breeders do to obtain unusual colors or a shortened stature. We obtained Cody when his owners felt that euthanasia was their only option. He is not mobility challenged in anyway, but he lacks tone on his tushy and does not have complete control over his poops. He will also dribble urine but has the ability to release his bladder outside. A strict schedule, good diet and a male wrap take care of 99% of his oopsies. Cody is a sweetheart! He gets along great with the other dogs in his foster home and he loves to run! He's pretty athletic for an English Bulldog and, as long as you avoid high humidity days, he's pretty heat tolerant and can walk up to 2 miles. Cody seems to love the water! What he loves most of all is to ride in the car! Cody will make a wonderful copilot – again, just have to be careful of the heat with bulldogs.  Cody has a little bit of separation anxiety and anxiety that makes him reactive on a leash.  His foster mom is working on these issues but it will be a work in progress. Cody will most likely require more veterinary care than the average bulldog. He is available to a family with similar experience and excellent veterinary references. The first step is to fill out an application at www.companimals.org. and once approved, we will set up a series of meet and greets and a home visit with Cody. Adoption $500. Should Cody require an MRI at any time in the future, his foster mom will personally pledge $100 towards his MRI. X-rays are available upon request if you would like to share them with your veterinarian prior to starting adoption process.August 18, 2024, 12:28 pm

Story
The Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold. Samson was rescued as a stray with Penelope.  Samson is a big, lovable Old English Bulldog with a gentle nature and a deep affection for people, especially children. He's a calm and relaxed companion who isn't easily startled by loud noises or playful activity. Samson is incredibly emotionally intelligent and attuned to the needs of those around him. He's quick to offer comfort and support, making him an ideal companion for families or individuals seeking a loyal and empathetic friend. Like most bully breeds, Samson unfortunately may need continuous allergy meds during allergy season to keep his skin healthy and keep him happy and comfortable.  He's calm, relaxed, and not easily startled by loud noises or playful activity. Samson absolutely adores people, especially children. He thrives on human companionship and is happiest when he's surrounded by his loved ones. Samson is remarkably in tune with the emotions of those around him. He's quick to offer comfort and support, making him an ideal companion for families or individuals seeking an empathetic friend. Samson doesn't require a lot of exercise. While he enjoys walks and is learning to play, he's also content to relax and snuggle up with his loved ones. Samson is generally well-behaved. He walks well on a leash (except when he sees other dogs),is house-trained (with a few minor accidents), and rarely barks.
