Story
Meet Tevya very shy and timid at first but then look out for the cuddles, he is neutered and up to date on the vaccines available for adoption only for approved homes This baby was taken in by a concerned person because he was wandering a neighborhood for a couple of weeks. Instead of turning him in to animal control, they did the responsible thing and had Tevya vetted while holding him until a rescue could take him in. He is a swell guy, happy go lucky and loves everyone. Not that large, just kinda chunky...

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.5/7/24 Happy Toothsday! These sweet girls are still available for adoption. They both have spina bifida which has left them completely incontinent. They wear diapers and do great staying clean with just a couple of diaper changes daily, and they sleep in a crate with a grate in the bottom at night so they can 'air out.' Aside from that, they are healthy and fully vetted. These little girls are just a joy to have. They have endless amounts of love to give, but they are excellent at playing together and entertaining themselves as well. They are very well behaved. They are happy to get any attention, but are not demanding if you are busy. They don't get into things they shouldn't, they are good about playing with their toys. They are strictly a package deal and absolutely will not be seperated, even if that means they stay here forever. But I would love for them to find a home with someone who can give them more time and attention than I can. I have spent a small fortune on them- beyond the regular vetting, I've also had soft palate surgery on Poundcake and cherry eye surgery on Shortbread, and then the cost of their diapers as they have grown, diapers liners, suspenders, etc. But I don't expect to get all of that back. This is the nature of rescue. The main goal is to find a home for them with someone who can afford to keep them in diapers and has the time to give them. With that said, they are not free and do have an adoption fee that is appropriate for their breed. It is a big commitment to have 2 dogs in diapers. But once you get into a routine, it's very easy to keep them comfortable, clean, and happy. These girls get along very well with other dogs and they love kids as well. Growing up in rescue, they have become a little bit shy with new people, only because they haven't been around many people besides us. But they warm up very quickly. Poundcake (brown and white) is the more cuddly of the two. She loves to sit in a lap, give all the kisses, and just snuggle as much as possible. Shortbread (brindle and white) is the more busy, playful of the two. She also loves to cuddle but once she's had her loves, she is ready to get down and play. Neither are high energy dogs. In fact they are the typical, slow, kind of lazy English Bulldogs. Short bursts of playful energy followed by a long nap is their jam. They are about 6-7 months old and weigh about 35 lbs each. They are located in Arkansas but transport to some New England states is available. To apply:You can find my form 'ADOPT A STRAY RESCUE' at: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059Message me directly or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Dog:Tootsie Age:9-12 Months Weight: 45 Location: Newtown, PA Nicknames: Toots, T, Tutti-frutti, Tootsie Roll, Grandma Ethel Good with other dogs?: Yes.Tootsie is dog friendly and loves to play with other dogs. She can play a bit rough, and can be a bit mouthy, which some dogs may not appreciate. Good with cats? yes Good with children? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with kids under 10 Activity Preference: Needs a couple walks a day., Needs in-house activities IQ: Smart Tootsie's favorite things: Tootsie is a sweet and funny dog. She enjoys taking walks and the ability to run off leash and at times get the zoomies. She is quite inquisitive and loves to smell and discover new places. She enjoys car rides and getting out of the house. She loves balls of all sizes and will often play with a full-size soccer-ball. Tootsie is good at: meeting people, meeting dogs, staying in a crate, behaving in the house, going for car rides, walking on a leash, playing Ideal home: another dog, no children, someone at home most of the day, a fenced yard, Lots of exercise opportunities Training Needs: socialization with dogs, needs obedience training Health issues: Tootsie is thought to have albinism and is deaf due to this trait. Due to her hearing impairment, her foster family has been teaching her sign language for basic commands (sit, stay, come, etc.) She also wears a vibrating collar which she has been trained to follow for recall when she cannot see her family. She is quite independent and just beginning to learn rules. Training will require consistent reinforcement and her forever home must be ready to work with her on a regular basis to keep these skills. In addition, she must go to a home with a fence to ensure she cannot wander away, as she cannot hear cars or other dangers. Meet Tootsie Tootsie is a fun loving, goofy, sweet and independent girl who would be great addition to home that will continue to work with her training to help with her special needs. There are some great benefits to having a deaf dog- vacuuming is not scary, play drums or guitar?- no problem for her, live by a fire/ police-department- she doesn't hear it, use lots of loud equipment- she'll never know! However, having a deaf dog comes with its challenges too- they don't come when you call them! Tootsie loves to run free in a yard, discover new things and curl up on a bed or couch. She loves toys and is constantly bringing her collection into her crate. She is house-broken and will let you know when she needs to go out. She looks a bit goofy, but has a big heart and is just waiting to find her new family willing to give this special girl some love.
