Story
Meet Trapper! He acts a little crazy in his kennel, but when you get him out he`s all cuddles and curiosity! Trapper walks well on a leash, the longer the walk, the better. Like most hounds, Trapper likes to lead with his nose and explore anything that catches his attention. He does have great manners though, and will check to make sure that you`re having a good time. Trapper is what we call treat-motivated. Show him a treat and he will do just about anything except `sit`. He`s working on it... Trapper is interested in toys but much rather hang out with his person. He is very affectionate and will want to jump on your for kisses and crawl into your lap for cuddles. Trapper gets along well with other dogs. He would be a great addition to any home. Come in and meet him today!

Story
Meet Luca! Luca is a wonderful dog who has just the perfect balance of chill and play. He currently lives with 2 other dogs in his foster home. Luca is great in the car and enjoys rides, walks and his chew bones. Luca does need two 20 minute walks a day. He walks really well on a leash with regular stops for hound sniffing! Luca is a great communicator. He lets you know what he wants when he wants it and is extremely happy with himself when he gets his point across. He does have the most enthusiastic and spirited howl to let you know if you are taking too long to get his food in the bowl or talking to someone else too long on his walks 😂 Luca will scratch on the door when he wants to go in and out or is known to dump the leash and toy baskets on the floor to let you know it’s time to go! His foster has learned to keep counters clear for he does have a great sense of smell with a body that can reach great distances. He LOVES attention and has a VERY sweet temperament! Luca is such a great dog you just can’t help but fall in love with him. Luca does require a fenced in yard because he is a hound 😂 If you would like to meet this handsome young man, please go to k9newlife.org and fill out our online adoption application. You will find it under “Dogs for Adoption”

Story
Our bouncy Ben was picked up by a local animal control.  He was very thin, heart worm positive, and had intestinal parasites.  All of that is behind him now as he has completed treatment for all and is ready to find his forever home.  We really should have named him Tigger as he bounces every where he goes.  He loves to play and also can be a snuggler when he has gotten his energy out.  We don't know how he is with cats as he hasn't been around them.  Ben knows sit and down and is eager to learn more.  He would like a family who will continue with training, and include him in their adventures, keeping in mind that he is a hound and must always be leashed when out because he likes to follow his nose.  He would be a great walking, running, hiking buddy.  If you are that special family who would love  this boy forever, please contact Rainbow Animal Rescue at rainbowanimalrescueva@gmail.com or 757-472-1583November 3, 2024, 9:38 am

Story
This stunning young man is Mr.Wiggins! Mr. Wiggins was transferred to the NSPCA from another shelter in hopes of finding his forever home. Mr.Wiggins still has lots of puppy energy left and would thrive in a home that is active or has a large yard for him to play and run around in. We are unaware of Mr.Wiggins past and therefore are unsure if he is good with kids, cats, or dogs but he is willing to give them a try! If you are interested in this sweet young man ask a member of the staff for more information today!
