Story
Dottie is a smart, friendy, very affectionate and easy going, medium-size girl. She is good with kids, cats and other dogs. She is potty trained, spayed and current on vaccines.
Dottie is an explorer at heart. She spent the first year of her life in the country, jumping in and out of ponds and frolicking with other dogs with no barriers. So, her forever home needs to have a backyard for her to run and play.
She is very trainable and is looking for a family or a person that gives her lots of love and keeps her busy with play time, walks and mental stimulation.

RHS IS NOT A SHELTER; OUR PETS LIVE IN FOSTER HOMES IN THE DFW AREA.
Adoption Process:
Meet the Adoption Criteria. Before you do anything else, make sure you meet our adoption criteria. You must be at least 21 years old. You must live within a 60-mile radius of Richardson, Texas. You must share veterinary records for all pets currently in your home and all pets owned in the last five years. All pets in the home must be spayed or neutered. If you rent your home, you must provide verification that pets are allowed on the property. You must be willing to be interviewed by an adoption counselor and you must undergo a home visit from an RHS representative.
Apply. You can complete an application online by either clicking the button below or the “Adopt” button beneath the pet’s photo in the listings above.
Home Visit. If all the steps above are completed satisfactorily, we will set up a home visit where you can meet the pet you are interested in and the pet can meet other pets in the family. We will try to send the foster parent so you can learn more about how the pet is in a home environment.
Complete Adoption. If all feel it is a good match, we will schedule the adoption at your home. The applicant will need to complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. Our adoption fee is $250 for adult dogs, $300 for puppies (under 1 year) and $125 for cats. Discounts are available for senior-aged pets
