My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Pepper is currently in a foster home, and she is available for adoption! Email applications@chicagocaninerescue.org to set up a meet and great. **

Meet Pepper, a graceful Black Lab with a heart full of love and a whisper of wisdom. At five years old, this gentle girl is looking for a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy the chill life she deserves. With her sleek coat and soulful eyes, Pepper is the perfect companion for those who appreciate a driven and steady presence.

Pepper thrives in a peaceful environment. Comfy doggy bed and a round of fetch in the hallway? She`s thrilled! Pepper is an affectionate and loyal friend who will bring warmth and joy to your life.

She gets along all humans-- kids included! But she does need to be the only pet in her home. Also... she likes the snow!

If you’re looking for a devoted companion to share quiet moments, games of fetch and some adventure with walks, Pepper might just be the perfect match for you!

More about this shelter

CCRF was founded in 2001 to help find permanent, loving homes for homeless dogs in our city. In just over seven years, CCRF has saved the lives of over 2,000 dogs, cats, kittens and puppies.

CCRF now assists the animals that are the MOST vulnerable in Midwest - the dogs and cats that are slated for euthanasia because they are too old, too young, injured, have disabilities, or have simply been overlooked for too long by potential adopters at other shelters.
