My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Location: Mays Landing, NJ

Pluto is around 7 years old and about 65lbs, and is suspected to be ACD and GSD mixed. He is as
sweet as pie and loves to roll around in the grass with a ball. Pluto is a heartworm survivor and has elbow dysplasia and arthritis, both managed with CBD and pain medication as needed, but he does not let any of that keep him from kangaroo hopping when you ask him if he wants to go for a walk! The answer is always yes - he LOVES his walks.

So far it seems that Pluto's only enemies are motorcycles, the tractor, and vacuums (and come on, who ISN'T opposed to the vacuum!?). Power tools do not disturb this guy one bit, and he is content to observe you doing anything as long as he can lay next to you while you're doing it. He also loves going for car rides and meeting new people.

Pluto is neutered and up-to-date on his vaccinations and preventatives. He is dog friendly, but would love a calmer home. Pluto is still a little iffy about cats and would prefer a dog-savvy feline or no feline in his forever home.

If you're looking for a retirement buddy, who wants to cuddle on the couch after puttering in the garage and going for a walk with you, then Pluto is your guy. He will love you forever, and will never leave your side.

More about this rescue

We are an all volunteer group that rescues Australian Cattle Dogs. Our dogs reside in foster homes until they are adopted
Every year, thousands of Australian Cattle Dogs find themselves homeless through no fault of their own. Although the reasons are diverse, the result is the same. Healthy, adoptable dogs face euthanasia in shelters.

The Australian Cattle Dog Rescue Association rescues ACDs in shelters from Maine to Georgia and gives these dogs a fresh start with a loving family. Our foster home volunteers welcome the dogs into their homes where they live as members of the family. During the time in foster care, our volunteers determine what kind of forever home will be the right one for each dog.
