My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How Delilah arrived:
Delilah was brought in by a community member on 9/16/24.

Here is an update on how Delilah is doing in her foster home:
Delilah is your dream companion! This sweet, cuddly girl is as easygoing as they come. She's perfect for someone looking for a loyal friend to relax with, as she loves being near her people, soaking up attention, and enjoying gentle pets.
Delilah thrives on calm, quality time and short, leisurely walks to keep her moving. She's fantastic with kids and has a playful streak, occasionally tossing her toys or breaking into a joyful little gallop. Most of the time, though, she's happy just to hang out, sunbathe, or nap by your side.
This good girl has excellent manners-she's quiet, respectful of your belongings, and shows no signs of separation anxiety. She knows "sit," is learning "stay," and is steadily improving her leash skills, though she can be a bit of a slow walker due to possible joint discomfort.
If you're searching for a laid-back, affectionate companion who's content with the simple joys in life, Delilah might be the perfect match!

At SDHS:
This pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Delilah is now ready for her new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
