Here's what the humans have to say about me:
“In every heart of a dog, there’s a space filled with unrivaled, unconditional love.” Our wonderful Ben has so much love to give the family lucky enough to take him home. If you want to adopt a medium sized dog, he could be the one.
Why we love him: Ben's exuberant, happy go lucky personality truly brightens our days!
Ben is one year old and weighs 31 pounds. He is so handsome with his shiny black and tan coat, and his merry brown eyes reflect his joy for life!
Ben's happy doggie face looks like he is smiling at you, and you can't help smile back! He is so sweet and affectionate and we look forward to spending time with him.
Lucky Ben recently spent some time in a foster home and his Mom reports: "Fun facts about Sweet Ben:
1. Ben is an affectionate, athletic, curious, friendly, loving, loyal, playful, smart, funny and handsome boy. He was all that plus some in our home.
2. Ben does not beg for human food. He sits and just watches by the table. He has not whined or jumped to out his paws on the table. Ben just sits there by the table and lets us eat in peace.
3. Ben knows how to sit. This was a skill that he had whenwe brought him home. We have been working on “Paw” and “Take Easy” when giving him treats. Ben is a bright dog who should master any commands you wish to teach him.
4. Ben loves his food.I went and bought him a slow feeder which definitely helped him slow down at meal time. I would recommend to anyone who adopts Benthat they continue with the slow feeder.
5. Ben is leash trained. There are multiple workers and volunteers at the shelter that can vouch for him. He is taken on regular walks there and we have been taking him out regularly here too. He hardly pulls on the leash.
6. Ben did not have one accident in the home. He went to the door every time he wanted to go out.
Ben is a GREAT dog and will be a wonderful addition to someone’s family. I was blown away to get such a great dog through the foster program!"
Ben is a congenial, enthusiastic companion on daily walks which are a great outlet for his energy. He really enjoys exploring the beautiful trails on our shelter grounds and is very curious and interested in his surroundings. Ben would be a fine hiking or running buddy, too.
Ben also has a great time running and playing in the fenced yard. He is so agile and athletic. Games of fetch are one of his very favorite activities.
Ben loves being around people of all ages and enjoys being petted and cuddled.
He is a bright dog who should master any commands you wish to teach him.
Ben has had so much fun in play groups with his fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.
Take Ben home and the fun and loyalty are guaranteed!
