My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sassy is a very pretty, almost 13-year old, light grey and buff dilute tortie. She also lives up to her name! This senior girl is not shy about letting you know when she wants you to pay attention to her. Sassy's adorable chirps are only one of her best qualities. She also enjoys pets, getting to know new people, and enthusiastically cleaning her paws.

Sassy is diabetic and her condition is currently well-managed with a low-carb, canned food only diet (in our shelter, we feed Fancy Feast Classic Pate), and twice-daily insulin injections. We will require that her adopter has a well-established relationship with a veterinarian. HART's Medical Team will provide her adopter training in the care of a diabetic cat (it’s easier than you think!), along with a blood-glucose testing kit, a vial of insulin with related supplies, and a generous starter amount of canned food. In order to make these preparations, Sassy won't be able to go home on the same day that you meet her.
