Come meet this volunteer favorite today! Debbie is a pretty patch tabby girl with a soft coat and a pair of rust colored wings beside her nose. She came to HART when her owner passed away. She's about 11 years old, but looks and acts closer to 6 years old.
She found her new temporary home at the shelter a bit overwhelming at first but she has begun to relax and look for attention from visitors. She can be very hesitant of new people at first. But, once she is calm and relaxed, she enjoys chin and head scritches and may reach out with her paws for move loving. We've discovered that she enjoys interactive toys and can be quite playful. When not being pet, she enjoys sitting next to her people and listening to them speak to her.
Debbie knows her boundaries. She can be very affectionate, but does not want to be touched 24/7. She will let you know when she's done with attention by moving away from you. If someone does not listen to her signals, or is not familiar with them, she may lash out. She isn't a good fit for a home with young children or other animals. You might be Debbie's perfect home if you: want a single cat, have experience with cat body language, enjoy speaking to your cat, and want to give a senior girl her forever home. We know she'll reward you for it!
