My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Frito Chip! Looking for a low-key companion with a heart of gold? Frito Chip is a 9-year-old, 80-pound sweetheart who’s as laid-back as they come. Now in a foster home, he’s showing his true colors—a loyal, gentle, and loving boy who just wants to be by your side.

Frito Chip is house-trained and doesn’t need a crate. He’s perfectly content snoozing on a dog bed or, occasionally, the couch. He’s a true cuddle bug who loves to be close, often curling up next to you or resting a paw on you for comfort. Social and friendly, he gets along well with big and small dogs, strangers, men, and women. While he hasn’t met children yet, his only challenge might be his size as he’s still learning his spatial awareness.

Frito Chip enjoys brief walks, exploring the yard, playing with toys, or simply hanging out indoors. His foster mom describes him as a “wise old man” who understands commands like, “Do you want to go outside?” and “Are you hungry?” He’s incredibly smart, prefers cuddles over food, and would love a home with a comfy couch and a kind human to snuggle up with at night.

If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who’s as low-maintenance as he is lovable, Frito Chip could be your perfect match. His adoption fee is $150 plus a $15 fee for rabies registration if 4 months or older and for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
