Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Timmy!
Hi, I’m Timmy—a 6-month-old mix of Hound, American Staffordshire Terrier, and Australian Cattle Dog! I’m full of love and ready to meet my forever family. I’ll probably grow to be a medium-sized dog, around 40–50 lbs.
I’m at a great age to adopt because I’m still a puppy with all the playful energy and charm, but I’ve already learned my basic commands like “no,” “off,” “sit,” and “wait.” I’m fully housebroken and past the nippy/teething stage, so I’m ready to settle into a loving home without the extra challenges of early puppyhood.
I’m affectionate, sweet, and love giving face kisses as my friendly greeting. Currently, I’m fostered with my brother, Tommy, and we’re the best of pals. He’s the leader, and I’m happy to follow his lead while we play, nap, and explore together. I get along wonderfully with other dogs, no matter their size, and I love chasing, rolling around, and zooming across the yard with my foster siblings. There are cats in my foster home, and I do great with them—I coexist peacefully and respect their space. I also enjoy spending time with humans of all sizes and love snuggling up whenever I can.
My personality is a perfect mix of gentle and laid-back with bursts of playful energy. I love whipping my toys around, chasing my foster siblings, and showing off my speedy zoomies. When it’s time to relax, I’m a pro at napping, especially on the couch or near my favorite humans—or even snuggled up with the older male dog in my foster home.
I sleep peacefully in my crate at night without making a fuss or mess. I’m a smart learner who takes treats gently and walks well on a leash, though I really enjoy running freely in a fenced yard.
I’d love a home with lots of love and attention! While I enjoy the company of other dogs and would thrive with a furry sibling to play and cuddle with, I’d also do well as your one-and-only pup if you’re ready to be my best friend. I’m a quiet, affectionate boy who’s eager to bring joy, snuggles, and a wagging tail to the right family. Could that be you?

More about this rescue
We are a small 501 C3 nonprofit rescue located in Elburn, Illinois. In 2014, Safe Haven Dog Rescue became its own non-profit. We are licensed by the Illinois Agriculture Department.
The majority of our dogs and puppies are pulled from Kill Pounds and Shelters in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Illinois. We also accept local medical cases as often as our finances will allow.
Please take a few moments to read the stories about the dogs and puppies we have available for adoption. We disclose everything we know about the dogs, sometimes we know a lot often we know only that they were strays, thrown away on the side of the road, in the woods, or found in abandoned houses.
While we don’t always know their past we are certain that their future is much brighter.
We hope that you and your family are part of the future…..
