I am so excited about the progress that Chandler is making! Chandler has been hiding out in the back of his kennel for days. He’s been depressed and scared. You would be too if you were a senior and found yourself in a noisy place like a shelter! With TLC, patience, and sweet talk he’s gradually warming up. He’s a handsome boy. He is a seven-year-old 63 pound brown and black German Shepherd that is very fluffy. He arrived at the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 11/27 as a stray. With staff and volunteers working with him, he’s gradually starting to relax. After he spent some time in the yard, he seemed to feel more comfortable and began to explore with his nose. He didn’t appear to know the sit command, but then he didn’t like my treats either. After spending some time with him in the yard, he actually slowly came when I called him. He is sweet, gentle, calm, cautiously friendly, and affectionate. He walked right beside me on the leash. He did his business when he got out into the yard. There is no doubt that with time and love, especially if he’s in a loving home, his personality will shine! As well mannered as he is and as gentle as he is, he would make a great snuggle partner. He wants to be mostly an inside dog so he can shower you with love.
