My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ellie is a female 7 yr old Shepherd mix that weighs 88lbs. She came in as a stray on 1/3 to the Mesquite Animal shelter. It appears her prior owners overfed her, and now she needs exercise and a regulated diet so she can be healthier. In spite of the weight she gets around amazingly well. She is out of the cold and being cared for, but she would much rather be in a warm, loving home! She has a lot of love to give you. She’s tail wagging happy. She stays very close seeking attention. She sits for treats. She does take them gently. She’s very alert and curious investigating her surroundings and looking out the gate. She comes when you call her. She was non-reactive to other dogs and walks well on a leash. She’s sweet, friendly, gentle, and well behaved. She definitely wants to be an inside dog. She’s too old to be braving the elements. It’s her time to be pampered.
