Hi, I'm Sunny Side! I'm a 7-year-old Terrier, and I can't wait to meet you! I'm all about bringing a little extra sunshine to your life. Sunny Side was in foster care and her foster family had this to say about her: "Sunny Side is very sweet, will follow you anywhere and is incredibly snuggly. Very calm indoors, likes to play fetch outdoors and never barks but has a very calming snore. She spent time with grade school kids from the neighborhood who came over to play with her in the backyard and she had a great time, running around and playing. She can pull a little on leash for the first few seconds but settles right in and walks very comfortably. She absolutely likes to greet and say hi to all people and enjoys getting some pets. She had access to the entire house while I was home and while she was by herself. Sunny Side seemed to just relax and take a nap until I got home. Sunny side is house trained".

We are open for walk-throughs so you can meet your new family member face-to-adorable face!

You may either come in and walk-through or visit our Available Pets page and select a few that you would like to meet. Then download an Adoption Survey and fill it out prior to visiting our shelter. Our adoption process is a walk-up, first-come, first-served system. You will have a meet and greet with an Adoption Counselor to discuss your survey, review information on the pets you would like to meet, and you will be introduced to the pet(s).If the Meet and Greet is a success, staff will complete your adoption paperwork to make it official! Your new pet will be able to go home with you the same day!

More about this shelter

Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every dog or cat leaves our shelter spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.

We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.

In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
