My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sam (A136858) is a 5-year-old Am Pitbull Terrier Mix who weighed 59.7 pounds on intake!

12/10/24 This loveable boy is Sam! Sam is a very sweet boy looking for his next family to love! He was described as an outgoing, friendly, and affectionate dog! He was said to be great around children but would do best in a home without babies/toddlers, as he was said to not appreciate when they were too rough with him. Sam was also said to do excellent around strangers and has been very sweet at the shelter. He was said to generally mind well and to know a variety of commands! Sam was also said to be kennel-trained and housebroken. He does have the habit of jumping up on people and was known to dig/chew. His prior owner noted that he gets very excited to play with other dogs and can be quite vocal towards them. He has no history with cats, pocket pets, or livestock. Please ensure you are making appropriate introductions with any new potential friends. On intake, we did note that Sam had some skin issues, and he was placed on a limited-ingredient diet. He is also a bit chunky and was started on a diet to help shed a few pounds. If you are interested in meeting Sam, please let us know!
