My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: New Caney, TX
DOB: 12/15/2020

Introducing the sweetest little girl on the planet... Miss Nava! This 4-year-old, 85-pound Great Dane/Retriever mix was pulled from the euthanasia list by a kind-hearted volunteer who couldn't stand to see her put to sleep. Unfortunately, the volunteer can only keep her for a short amount of time, so we are urgently searching for a foster home placement for this lovely girl.

Nava's life hasn't been easy. She is very high HW+ and hasn't had anyone properly care for her at any point in her life. But don't worry, we will be doing the new (heartworm association approved) "slow kill" treatment for her. She is not spayed yet, but she will be once we get some of the HW meds going. Poor Nava!

Despite her tough past, Nava is the best girl ever. She walks like an angel on the leash and hasn't barked once. She is dog-friendly and, while she hasn't met any kids or cats, we don't have any data to report that she would be bad with them.

Nava is house trained and easily entertained—she just wants to cuddle and has eyes only for her human. This sweet and gentle lady is looking for a loving home where she can receive the care and attention she deserves. If you think Nava would be a good fit for your home, please let us know! This sweet girl is ready to bring joy and love into your life. Consider welcoming Nava into your family and giving her the chance to experience the love and care she has always deserved.

All of our Great Danes are altered, if medically possible, fully vetted, micro-chipped, and on heartworm prevention or treatment prior to being adopted. Thank you for considering adopting a rescue dog, you're saving a life when you adopt. We adopt nationwide and have transport options available!

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
