A24654 Leia is a white and black colored, approximately 2-year-old, 56-pound, spayed female, Pitbull.
She entered the shelter a stray on 01-02-2025.
Leia is a friendly, happy, easy to handle girl here in the shelter. Our staff describes her as a very sweet, happy girl who loves affection. She is excited to see you at her kennel door and is right at the front, ready for love and attention or to go for a walk. She is curious about other dogs and only barks at them if they bark first. She was easy to leash and well behaved during our walks. She will need some training and doesn’t know any commands. But she doesn’t jump up on you or act crazy. Leia will be a loving, loyal family member in her new forever home.

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
