My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Abby!

This 5-month-old scruffy sweetheart is Abby, and she’s ready to fill your life with love, laughter, and puppy antics! Rescued from Texas, Abby is a small breed puppy with a delightful, scruffy coat that perfectly matches her playful and curious personality.

Abby is full of energy and eager to explore everything around her. Whether it’s chasing after toys, making new doggy friends, or discovering new corners of the house, she’s always up for an adventure. But don’t let her playful nature fool you—she’s just as happy to curl up for some snuggle time when the day winds down.

As a young pup, Abby is still learning the basics like potty training, but with a little patience and consistency, she’s sure to pick it up quickly. She’s great with people and other dogs, making her an ideal companion for families, singles, or anyone looking for a fun-loving, scruffy friend to share their life with.

If you’re ready to add a little scruffy joy and puppy love to your life, Abby is waiting to meet you! Come make this sweet girl a part of your family today.

This cutie resides at our Wantagh location and meetings are by appointment only. If you are interested in meeting them, you must click "Apply for Adoption" to submit an online application. If you're viewing this animal on Petfinder, please visit the animal's page on Bideawee.org and click on the "Apply for Adoption" button to submit an adoption application. Once we receive your application, we will be in touch to schedule an appointment to meet them! Prior to adoption, all of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped and given their age-appropriate vaccines.

This dog is currently being treated for an intestinal parasite, which is a treatable condition but makes them contagious to other dogs. Out of an abundance of caution, until they finish their treatment this dog should only be adopted to a home without any other dogs.
