Meet Ivy – A Sweet, Senior Chihuahua Ready for a Fresh Start
Ivy is a 9-year-old spayed Chihuahua weighing 9 pounds. Her journey has been challenging—her human mom, who was always connected to IVs (which inspired Ivy’s name), passed away last year. When her dad was evicted, Ivy and two other Chihuahuas were left behind in a mobile home. Thankfully, they are now safe with us and receiving the care they desperately needed.
When Ivy arrived, she was flea-infested and suffering from significant hair loss on her back end due to the infestation. After a soothing bath, her skin is already improving, and she’s feeling much better.
About Ivy:
• Ivy was the “alpha” of her group, but she’s more scared than bossy. Very shy now
• She doesn’t walk well on a leash yet but is learning.
• She enjoys her meals and has a calm, quiet demeanor.
• While she may seem timid, she melts in your arms when held like a baby, relaxing completely and craving affection.
Ivy had a comprehensive checkup, updated vaccines, a heartworm test, a microchip, and is receiving continued care to get her back to her best self. Her blood work was good, and she is soon to have a dental.
This beloved senior is looking for a loving foster or forever home where she can feel safe and cherished. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to Ivy, please complete your application today. Let us know if you have any questions about this sweet girl!. Her adoption fee is $225

Additional adoption info
We are a RESCUE ORGANIZATION; please complete your online Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. We require an adoption application, vet reference, and a home visit with the pet. ALL of our pets are spayed, neutered or scheduled prior to being adopted. They are UTD on shots, heartworm negative, treated or scheduled to be treated, and micro chipped. They must be kept on heartworm preventative for the rest of their lives. Our adoption fees vary. Puppies have an increased adoption fee since they need three or four sets of shots, multiple de-wormings, and other puppy needs to keep them healthy.

CPR is an animal rescue organization run solely by volunteers. Our primary goal is to save dogs from euthanization at shelters as a result of factors such as a lack of funding and space. These wonderful animals are put at risk because they have no one to claim and adopt them. We aim to give them the second chance that they so deserve. Our animals come to us from shelters around DFW and stay in foster homes where they are given the medical attention (vaccinations, surgeries, heart worm testing, etc) and care that they deserve.
