Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
This sweet 6-year-old boy joined our P&P family today, weighing just 43 lbs and in need of some TLC to gain weight. Found as a stray with old scars on his head and broken teeth, Zane’s history remains a mystery. One thing is for sure and that is he is cute as a button, is happy wiggly and loves people!
Zane was excellent for the vet! He was calm, cooperative, and handled everything like a pro. He’s now up to date on vaccinations but has a grade 2/3 heart murmur, which means he can’t be neutered just yet. He’ll need follow-up care, including a possible echocardiogram, to ensure it’s safe for him to undergo anesthesia.
Zane seems unsure but non-reactive around other dogs. Further testing will help us understand his comfort level. In the meantime, he’ll stay in boarding while we search for a foster or foster-to-adopt home. Volunteers will start leash training and working on commands to help this little guy get home ready.
This handsome boy already got a taste of the good life—he loved his burger and fries on his freedom ride! Thank you Judy and Diggie for transporting him. A huge thank you to Steph for managing his medical care.
Let’s help Zane get the fresh start he deserves!

More about this rescue
Pitties and Pals Rescue, Inc. is (a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit). Our mission is to rescue dogs and educate the public. Although our main focus is the bully breed, we are committed to all dogs in need. We believe RESCUE involves a multitude of approaches that includes liberating dogs from at risk situations, whether in a shelter or with an owner in need of assistance. While adoption is always the ultimate goal, we believe transitioning into foster care allows for socialization and training that are key components to a successful placement.
Pitties and Pals volunteers are also committed to changing the negative public perception of the Bully Breed. As such, we welcome opportunities to heighten awareness and enhance education in a public forum through our personal stories and positive experiences.
