My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Hui! she’s a rescue pup saved from the brink of euthanasia, along with her siblings (Pooh, Purin, Louis) after her mother was sadly lost. Now Hui is ready for a fresh start with a loving family!

Hui loves people—whether you’re an old friend or someone she’s meeting for the first time, she’ll happily trot up, lean in for affection, and even let you rub her belly right away. She’s met children under 13 a couple of times and was gentle overall, though sudden movements or loud noises might startle her just a little. She’s also comfortable being picked up and carried, making her easy to handle and endlessly cuddly.

When it comes to other dogs, Hui is a social butterfly. She greets dogs of all sizes with enthusiasm and is always ready to play, even with high-energy pals. If a larger dog gets too rough, she might let out a squeak and retreat, but she’s generally great at making friends. Hui feels more confident and secure with other dogs around, so having a canine sibling could be a plus for her.

Hui is curious about cats and birds on walks, occasionally pausing to watch or pulling slightly on the leash, but she listens well when redirected. She enjoys sniffing her surroundings more than walking in a straight line, so her strolls tend to be a mix of stops and starts. Her energy level is moderate—she’s happy to explore and play outdoors but knows how to relax quietly once back inside.

Hui has great manners! She doesn’t guard food, hardly ever barks, and behaves calmly in a crate (though she does get a little carsick). Like many puppies, she may have the occasional mischievous moment, but she’s easily kept entertained with toys and chews. Hui is adaptable with her potty habits, using both indoor pads and outdoor spaces. While she may howl a bit if left alone at first, she quickly adjusts and can relax quietly in her crate once she feels secure.

Hui’s playful, gentle nature and her love for people and dogs alike make her a wonderful companion. She’s ready to bring joy, loyalty, and a touch of puppy mischief to her forever home—could it be with you?

More about this rescue

Adopt Korean Rescue is a volunteer-based federally registered not-for-profit organization dedicated to helping homeless and unwanted dogs in South Korea find a new home in Canada.

We love Korean dogs. Many of them live in chains, give birth on the side of the road, or wander around with their pups. Some of them get caught and end up at dog meat farms or high-kill shelters in South Korea. They luckily meet us just before euthanasia or after many years of living in dog meat farms. We exist to hold their paws and help them find a forever home in Canada full of joy and happiness.
