Monday has quite the story, and it’s as unique as she is! Let her foster tell you why this beautiful tabby with a big heart is ready for her forever home:
"In the fall of 2022, shortly after we moved into a Baltimore City, a stunningly chonky tabby appeared on our front porch—on a Monday, of course! At first, she wanted nothing to do with us beyond enjoying the meals we left out for her.
For months, she stayed nearby, smartly avoiding our attempts to trap her. But her ear tip told us she was spayed, and since she seemed healthy and well-fed, we decided to focus on gaining her trust instead of rushing. We posted in lost and found groups, hoping someone would claim her, but no one came forward. So, we kept feeding her and making her feel safe.
By mid-2023, a breakthrough happened—Monday started letting us pet her (briefly) and would greet us with meows after work. She even began following us on walks with our dogs, keeping a careful but curious distance. She’d nap on our porch, charm the neighbors, and brighten our days. We learned she gets the happy drools when being pet. We learned that she knows her name and would come when called! We learned she was finally ready to be inside.
When the first snow of the season was forecasted, I knew it was time. To my surprise, she settled in right away, using the litter box and showing no signs of stress. She’s even coexisting peacefully with another female foster cat and dogs, although she mostly keeps to herself. She’s happiest lounging in her favorite cat bed or kneading biscuits on the couch. Wand toys are her weakness, and she’s growing more comfortable every day.
The vet has given Monday a clean bill of health and estimates she’s around 5 years old. She’s truly a special cat and it's going to be very hard letting this large piece of my last 2.5 years go, but I know she deserves a family that's devoted to her, and a big window to stare out and lay in the sun!"
Monday would thrive in a home that’s patient and willing to let her blossom at her own pace. If you’re ready to give this incredible girl the loving home she deserves, apply to adopt this sweetheart today!
