Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Ogun is a sweet boy looking for a calm, loving home where he can relax and be himself. With a little patience, he warms up quickly and becomes an affectionate guy, leaning in for pets and seeking comfort from his people. This well-mannered fella already knows “sit” and takes treats gently.
Ogun will thrive in a quiet environment with someone ready to help him build confidence. If you’re looking for a gentleman to share your heart and home, Ogun is ready to be your best friend.
Eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet Ogun at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.

Behavior notes:
01/24/25 volunteer notes: took Ogun out of ISO for some fresh air and a lil romp around in the snow. Even w his doggy cold, he has high spirits and we had fun playing with toys and balls in the yard. Ogun often has a startled look on his face, but I think it’s simply bc he loves living every minute to the fullest and is always excited, and a little surprises about what’s to come next!
He’s a very good, mild mannered boy, and would make an incredible addition to nearly any home!
Per volunteer 1/21- Ogun is really coming out of his shell! He is being so brave! Walked through the kennel with more confidence and gave lots of tail wags the entire time. He really enjoyed his treats and time outside in the snow! He really is such a sweet, gentle boy.
Per volunteer 1/18
Spent some time w/ Ogun this afternoon. He was a bit hesitant to let me leash him to exit his kennel but he was a brave boy. Outside we went to the yard and he was pretty independent. Not super interested in toys or me...busy busy sniffing. Didn't take any treats....but maybe I didn't pick his favorites. We then walked down the sidewalk, he peed and pooped and we kept strolling. He is pretty ok on a leash. After a while, he became somewhat nervous so I walked him back to ACCT. In his defense, it did start to rain on us so who likes that? Didn't get to spend a ton of time with him but he is a very sweet, handsome guy.
01/16/25 volunteer notes: My sweet boy Ogun absolutely broke my heart with how nervous he was walking through the shelter. This boy was so brave and persevered! Once we were outside and then spent some time in a quiet area of the shelter, he warmed right up & was a completely different dog. He is just a timid boy stuck in the loud crowded shelter that will really thrive once he is in his forever home. He’s a very sweet & gentle boy.

KENNEL PRESENTATION:
Ogun was laying by the door with his head next to the water bucket. When the handler called to him he looked up with wide dilated eyes but remained in place. He lowered his head when the handler tried to lean in and leash him and placed his face in the corner. The handler spoke to him softly and once he finally lifted his head she was able to easily leash him and he exited slowly without issue.
LEASH SKILLS:
Pulls minimally, nervous in the kennels
HANDLING :
Ogun was a nervous man in the room. He has wide soft eyes in the room, a low tail, and neutral body. He was timid but stayed close to us in the room to seek out comfort. He took treats very gently when offered and they helped him to warm up. He showed knowledge of sit and was very gentle and well mannered in the room. He allowed all over handling from both of us in the room. He would slightly lean in when petting him and maintained soft eye contact and low wags, just was shy and needed time to warm up.
PLAY:
No interest
TOYS
Interest but no possession
01/15/25 staff notes: finder noted Ogun to be Friendly, cuddly, shy, scared
