Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Adoption Fee: $650, plus tax
Location: Foster Home
Hi there! I'm Maxi, a fluffy and playful German Shepherd mix puppy (aka a small Teddy Bear) looking for my forever home. I'm a total lovebug who loves to follow my foster family around– I'm always eager to be by their side!
I'm a quick learner and am already making great progress with potty training. I get excited to go outside and explore, and I love to zoom around the yard after I do my business.
At night and when the humans are gone, I do really well in my kennel. If I see you wake up in the morning, I like to let you know I am awake too! I’m so excited to start my day with you!
I would make the perfect addition to any family! I love playing with the other dogs in the house and chasing the resident cat (though he seems to prefer his distance!). I'm looking for a loving family who will shower me with affection and adventures. Whether you have other pets or not, I'm sure to bring joy to your home. I'm a sweet and friendly gal who can't wait to find my forever family!

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue
Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.
In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.
CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
