Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, I’m Scooter 2, a sweet 1 ½-year-old cat looking for my forever home!
I like to take long naps. I also like to be around my human(s) and enjoy being wherever they are. I like to play but my younger siblings usually steal the toys, so I am content sitting back and watching them. I love to watch kitty cat TV.
For my young age, I’m a pretty laid-back fella. If you can’t find me, I’m likely on the bed lying on my back. I’m very well behaved. I enjoy toys, especially the kind on a stick with a feather. I play with my younger siblings, but their energy level is much higher than mine. Catnip is pretty yummy.
My ideal home would be one where I feel safe and loved. I would be perfectly content with a new family with either a high or a low energy level. Having a designated place to sharpen my claws and a perch to sit on would be amazing! I would love it if you let me watch kitty cat tv from time to time, I LOVE it! A few toys would be nice, along with having my belly rubbed.
Sadly, we came from a home filled with addiction, filth and a lot of people coming and going. We are so glad to be rescued and are relearning to trust humans, so we are still a little nervous and jumpy with sudden movements.
I feel sure that when I gain your trust, I’ll feel bolder and braver every day! I’m a quiet guy; in fact, my foster mom can’t recall ever hearing me meow. I would be fine with a new stepbrother, sister or both, but am not sure I have ever met a dog. I would love a new home filled with love and will love you right back.
I often crawl in my foster mom’s lap, and she says I’m affectionate and will have a difficult time saying goodbye. I came into my foster home with my mom (Tasha), an older brother (Scooter 1), an older sister (Ninnie), and two younger siblings (Suzie Q and Muso). If you are looking for a bigger kitty family, please check out their bios and let Pet Haven know. I would bond well with any of my family. I have been neutered, fully vaccinated and am litterbox trained. Not one accident!
The day I came to Pet Haven, my luck changed! I’m so ready to give you lots of love in my quiet, loving way. Please consider adding me (and/or others in my family) to your home!

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Vision

Our Values

How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
