My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*HEARTWORM POSITIVE*

Koako is a very versatile girl, she loves to run and play but also loves her snuggle time! She loves sitting on a couch alongside you and will kiss you until she falls asleep in your lap. Meanwhile, when given the chance she will run to her heart`s contempt to get all those zoomies out. Koako is good with commands and easily falls into routines, she will sit still until she knows her leash is on her before running with you! Due to her energy level she does pull decently hard on the leash out of excitement, so a harness is recommended and she doesn`t mind them being put on her. Koako may need a fenced in yard, but she does tend to attempt to jump smaller fences. She is unreactive and unbothered with both dogs and cats. Koako loves her toys and blankets and will treat them with care and is not usually messy or vocal. She is not jumpy or rough and is gentle when taking treats and eating.

More about this shelter

New Hope Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization servicing Volusia County Florida since 1955.
Our policy is no-kill. We will NOT euthanize an animal to make room or to reduce pet overpopulation. “adoptable” means an animal is healthy and well-adjusted, not ill or injured, and can be safely made available to the public for adoption. We reserve the right to refuse admission due to space availability, or if the animal is dangerous, in poor health, or otherwise deemed un-adoptable.
