Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Balto is a timid boy who can be quite protective of his trusted humans, and may take time to warm up to a new family. Once he gains your trust he is an over the moon love bug! he absolutely enjoys running around and playing with stuffed toys, he will carry them around in his mouth or tear them up, he even will play tug of war with you and the toys. He is not too fond of other dogs and it is recommended that he is the only dog in the home. Balto seems to be fine with cats and is just curious on them. He is more likely to snatch treats from you than be gentle with it as he is a very fast eater and extremely food motivated, and loves all food and treats alike. A slow feeder is required. Balto is exceptional on the leash, he doesn`t seem to like putting it on at first but is wonderful moving forward, he doesn`t pull and just gently leads. He tends to plant his feet and will not move forward if he does not trust who is walking him. He gets protective when outside and sees unknown people walking past a fence when hes with a trusted caretaker. Balto loves giving kisses and will sometimes try to nuzzle himself into your arms when sitting with him, he also enjoys a big comfy couch to sit on but can be a bit rough with quick movements as he doesn`t seem to realize his size or strength. He is a good listener and would be an incredibly easy dog to train as well due to his intense food motivation.
