Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Prosecco is a mellow girl who can often be found lounging around in her bed, she is quite timid with people and keeps to herself quite often. She gives small kisses when inside of her kennel but absolutely adores her outside time and spends most of it running around. She is potty trained and will not go to the bathroom until she is outside. She is extremely gentle when taking treats and slowly eats her food throughout the day, but tends to eat more when it is dry mixed with wet. It is recommended that she has a fenced in yard to play in. Prosecco absolutely hates cats, she will try to lunge to get to them and has attempted jumping smaller fences to get a cat. Absolutely NO cats in the home with Prosecco. She is rather vocal on occasions and will bark at other dogs, so a meet and greet will be required or a home with no other animals. Prosecco pulls decently hard on the leash out of excitement but is good about getting on and off of it. She will approach you in the play yard looking to run around and play with you, but doesn`t seem to enjoy most toys. She is noticeably more contempt when she has a comfy bed at her disposal, and may be an explorative type based on how she whines at the gates of the play yards and her kennel.

More about this shelter
New Hope Animal Shelter is a 501(c)(3) private nonprofit organization servicing Volusia County Florida since 1955.
Our policy is no-kill. We will NOT euthanize an animal to make room or to reduce pet overpopulation. “adoptable” means an animal is healthy and well-adjusted, not ill or injured, and can be safely made available to the public for adoption. We reserve the right to refuse admission due to space availability, or if the animal is dangerous, in poor health, or otherwise deemed un-adoptable.
