Cassanova is a 1 year old Yorkie x Miniature Schnauzer mix who can’t wait to charm his forever people with one flutter of his puppy dog eyes! Casanova was rescued from the shelter when they reached out for assistance due to a lack of space. We agreed to take in Cassanova and a few of his canine companions and a few hours later they were on their shelter jailbreak ride and into the arms of their foster humans! Casanova weighs 22 pounds and is just the most perfect little gentleman on the planet! He effortlessly wins over everyone he meets and we know he will bring a lifetime of memories to the family lucky enough to bring him home! If you’ve been looking for some loving ahead of the holiday season, bring home Cassanova today!
Casanova is exuberance personified according to his foster mom. He adores his humans and he is just so excited to explore the world outside his front door. Casanova loves showing off his goofiness, zooming around the yard with his numerous plush toys as he plays fetch for as long as you will let him! However, he also loves to kick up his paws and relax on the couch, getting cuddles from those he adores. Casanova has a ton of playful energy and he loves emptying out the toy box to choose the toy he wants to play with for the day. Toys don’t stand a chance against Mr. Shredder, so prepare for lots of squeaky destruction at his hand. We think he would be a great dog to take on adventures, especially on hikes and longer walks as he loves to get out and explore with his humans by his side. Casanova is very food motivated which will make training a blast. In fact, his foster mom swears he can understand her when she speaks to him in Spanish which is a first for us! This little man seems to have had a very full life before he joined our rescue and we can’t wait to hear all the stories he gets up to next! For those who know the Schnauzer breed, you know how smart they are, so he will keep you on your toes but in the best way possible! This dude will steal your heart from the minute you meet him.
Casanova wakes up between 7-9 AM depending on the day. He goes into the backyard for potty and exploration for a bit before coming inside for breakfast. He then hangs out in the living room and in the backyard for a few hours, checking out every toy in the toy box and snoozing on one of his various dog beds. He plays some fetch in the afternoon before his afternoon stroll around the neighborhood. He gets dinner between 5-6 PM and then explores the backyard some more to get out the last of his zoomies before he starts to wind down for the night. He gets some snuggles in the living room until around 9 PM when he heads into his crate for the night.
Casanova currently lives with a dog and they get along well, though he would love a playful companion in his forever home. He could use some work on his manners because sometimes he comes on a little strong, but he is easy to train! He is still working on his leash walking skills but responds well to correction. Casanova would benefit from a home prepared to find an outlet for his energy so he can be the best boy we know he is. Casanova gets along very well with humans of all ages and would be an amazing fit for an active family ready to make him part of the action. If you’ve been looking for the other half of your heart, adopt Cassanova!
Casanova is only an option for homes who have owned a dog of their own in the past. Kids should be over the age of 7.
